Building versatility, confidence and real kitchen experience 👩‍🍳🔥

Toni is currently completing her industry placement at Flagstaff Hill Golf Club, a hospitality venue in Flagstaff Hill offering restaurant and alfresco dining alongside function and event catering.

Toni secured this placement herself, and QCA has continued to support her progress through workplace visits and industry follow-up. During our recent visit, the feedback from her workplace was excellent — Toni was described as punctual, reliable, professional and a strong communicator who has integrated very well into the team.

She is performing above the expected standard for her stage of training and is already trusted to work across the larder, fryer and grill sections, building valuable experience in preparation, timing, organisation and service under pressure.

This kind of placement gives students exposure to different styles and volumes of hospitality service while developing the practical confidence employers value.

Yesterday, this talented group took on the challenge of designing, preparing and delivering a menu for more than 48 guests at our biggest Chef’s Table event to date — and they absolutely smashed it!

Events like these provide our students with an invaluable opportunity to put their skills into practice in a real-world hospitality environment. From menu planning and preparation through to teamwork, time management and service, the day was a fantastic showcase of the knowledge, confidence and professionalism they have developed throughout their studies.

We are incredibly proud of the commitment and enthusiasm our students brought to the experience and of everything they achieved on the day.

A special thank you also goes to our dedicated team, industry partners and agents who joined us and continue to support our international students throughout their learning journey. Your ongoing involvement helps create meaningful opportunities for our students to develop their skills, build industry connections and prepare for their future careers.

Excellent Seafood practical class at Quality College of Australia! Our students immersed themselves in a hands-on seafood practical kitchen class, developing industry skills in fish preparation, shellfish cookery, stock production, and professional plating techniques.

From Char Grilled Kingfish, Oven Baked Barramundi, and Squid in Basil to Mussels Provençale, Slipper Lobster Nummus, and classic Fish Stock, every dish reinforced the precision, techniques, and presentation standards expected in professional kitchens.

Practical training like this ensures our students graduate with the confidence and skills employers value across Australia's hospitality industry.

Congratulations to Minwoo on completing his Certificate III in Commercial Cookery with Quality College of Australia after completing his recent workplace training at Doki Doki in Rozelle, Sydney.

Doki Doki is a modern Japanese restaurant in Sydney’s Inner West, offering an authentic dining experience and showcasing traditional Japanese cuisine made with high-quality local produce and carefully sourced ingredients.

Minwoo’s Head Chef, Hakjune Kim, has been very pleased with Minwoo’s growth over the past seven months, particularly his improvement in cookery skills, workplace attitude and overall professionalism.

Minwoo has brought many positive qualities to the kitchen, including his sense of humour, punctuality, smart presentation and strong commitment to his role. Chef Hakjune also praised the standard Minwoo brought from his QCA training into the workplace.

☕ Welcome to QCA's very own Bean There Café! 💙

Our talented Diploma of Hospitality Management students from Classes 54 and 55 have brought this exciting initiative to life as part of their studies. Under the guidance of trainer Connie, the students have planned every aspect of the café—from budgeting and concept development to operations and customer service.

More than just great coffee and delicious treats, Bean There Café is making a difference. The café is proudly accepting donations for ShareTheMeal, helping provide emergency relief, essential supplies and support to individuals and families affected by the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela.

We're incredibly proud of our students for combining their hospitality skills with a passion for giving back to the community. And judging by the smiles around campus, our staff are more than happy to support such a meaningful cause while enjoying a coffee and a sweet treat!

🌟 Reward Expo Success! 🌟

Today, Classes 54 and 55 showcased their hard work and creativity at the Reward Hospitality Expo as part of their holistic assessment for the Diploma of Hospitality.

Students developed a budget for a BEAN THERE CAFÉ( title chosen by the students for a scenario) to open at the college. They researched costs for equipment and crockery etc BIG THANKS TO THE TEAM A REWARD HOSLITALITY!

Then headed to the Adelaide Central Market with a set budget to source ingredients for a three-course meal.

The results were fantastic! Not only did the students create impressive menu concepts within their budgets, but they also represented the college exceptionally well. They were professional, well-presented, asked thoughtful questions, and demonstrated excellent hospitality skills throughout the experience.

It was a fun and engaging learning opportunity, and everyone involved loved it. We are incredibly proud of the effort, teamwork, and professionalism shown by all students.

👏 Well done, Classes 54 and 55! Hospitality ;Expo
