Happy Early Childhood Educators’ Day!

Today is a wonderful opportunity to recognise and celebrate the incredible educators who make such a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families every single day.

Being an Early Childhood Educator is so much more than just a job. It’s about being a safe place, a teacher, a comforter, a role model, a cheerleader, and sometimes simply the person who makes a child feel truly seen, heard and loved.

The impact you have on children’s lives cannot always be measured, but it is incredibly meaningful.

We know our days can be busy, challenging and sometimes exhausting. But amongst the routines, the mess, the noise and everything else that comes with early childhood education, you are creating memories, building confidence, nurturing relationships and helping shape the foundations of children’s lives.

Today, we want to say a huge THANK YOU to our amazing Playtime team for the care, patience, energy and dedication you bring each and every day.

Thank you for all the little things that often go unnoticed but mean so much. Thank you for the cuddles, encouragement, laughter, patience and love you give so freely.

Early Learning Matters Week 3-9 August

Childhood is filled with moments of wonder, curiosity and discovery! Every one of those moments matters.

This Early Learning Matters Week, we're celebrating the incredible importance of early childhood and recognising that play is one of the most powerful ways children learn.

Whether they're building a cubby, creating a masterpiece, digging in the garden, climbing to new heights, sharing a story or making a new friend, children are developing skills that will support them for life. Through play, they learn to problem solve, communicate, build confidence, develop resilience, explore their creativity and make sense of the world around them.

At Playtime at Wauchope, we believe every child deserves the time, space and opportunity to learn through meaningful play, supported by caring educators who nurture their curiosity and celebrate who they are. We also know that the strongest learning happens when educators, families and our community work together, creating a sense of belonging that helps every child flourish.

Together, we're creating rich experiences that inspire children to explore, discover and grow with confidence.

There was plenty of laughter, splashing, squelching, and muddy fun at Playtime as our children and educators celebrated International Mud Day together! 🤎🌿

From muddy hands to happy faces, everyone embraced the mess and discovered the joy that comes from connecting with nature through play.

Mud play is so much more than getting dirty. It encourages creativity, problem-solving, sensory exploration, and imaginative play while supporting children's confidence, resilience, and wellbeing. For adults, joining in the fun strengthens relationships, creates meaningful shared experiences, and reminds us of the simple joy of being present in the moment.

Today was a wonderful reminder that some of the best learning happens when we step outside, get our hands dirty, and embrace the mess together.
