🐾 Ever wondered where a career working with animals could take you?

We asked Don, teacher of Veterinary Nursing and industry professional, to share what inspires him to teach at TAFE NSW. This is what he said…

“One of the best parts of teaching Animal Care and Veterinary Nursing at TAFE NSW Wauchope is watching students grow in confidence. Many start out nervous about handling animals or learning new skills, but before long they're developing the knowledge and confidence needed to step into the industry.” 🐱

Don loves TAFE NSW's focus on hands on training including practical classes, simulations, and work placements. "It makes all the difference, students gain real-world experience while building the communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills employers are looking for".

“One of my proudest moments was seeing a student progress from Certificate II through to Certificate III before securing a job at a local animal boarding facility. Watching students discover what they’re capable of and turn their passion into a career is what makes teaching so rewarding.” 🐶

💕Meet Umbreon, a mini lop eared rabbit and Tahlee, an American Shepherd; both in the first year of life and happy to help our students learn more about caring for animals.⛑️

In celebration of the UN’s International Youth Day, we’d like to give a huge shout out to young people around the globe! 🙌

This year’s theme is “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations” and I’m sure we can appreciate that whist many youth come from a diverse range of backgrounds, experiences and perspectives, their desire for dignity, opportunity, meaningful participation, decent work, quality education and sustainable future unite them.

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our Semester 2 Welcome Event on campus this morning!

What’s better than enjoying the beautiful weather, sharing tips and donuts!🍩 We also had healthy options;fruit and our well-loved Lemon Myrtle tea. Always a favourite.

Thanks also to the wonderful community organisations that helped to make it a success- MNC Legal, Linked Community Transport, Wauchope CWA and headspace, as well our internal services.
