TG's Child Care and Preschool - Hastings Street Wauchope

TG's Child Care and Preschool - Hastings Street Wauchope TG’s provide child care and pre-school education for children from 6 weeks to 6 years old. Gayle Kee is a mother, grandmother and working mum. In 1998.

For 20 years, the loving TGs family are the best educators to care and nurture young minds, in a secure, creative environment where Playing is Learning for Life. She knows what it's like trying to be Super-Mum, juggling work and motherhood. With over 32 years as a pre-school teacher, Gayle feels for parents struggling between work, home and raising children. She knows what it's like and wanted to make a difference, helping parents nurture their children so parents don't feel guilty about working or taking some well-earned time out. That’s how TG’s Child Care and Pre-School was born. TG's provides a nurturing, secure, stimulating environment where Playing is Learning for Life for every child. You and your child are our extended family and that means you can pop in anytime to observe, to share, to chat, and to learn with your child and our educators. At TG’s, our passionate, creative and highly qualified educators work with you to ensure your child develops socially, emotionally, physically and academically, expanding their young, inquiring minds through each developmental milestone. Every child is different so we focus on what each child knows, can do and understand. Their learnings are extended and supported through positive interactions and building relationships with their peers and educators. We believe building relationships, understanding your gifts and collective thinking are the biggest gifts we can give to you and your child. That is why they are our foundations stones so we can consistently provide an environment of love, trust, respect, compassion and fun. When parents walk into our centres, they say they ‘cannot describe what is it about TG’s but it feels so right’. We know it is the all-important ‘parent intuition’ that comes from every protective parent when they want the best for their child – and it cannot be ignored. This ‘feeling’ parents have flows through the indoors and outdoors, in every room and every play space. We know that this feeling comes from a happy and secure environment where Playing is Learning for Life. We believe children learn best when the physical environment supports curiosity with a range of creative opportunities for learning and physical activity, both indoors and outdoors. Trevor Kee is a qualified landscape designer. He challenges himself and his own childlike curiosity to build the most stimulating outdoor play-spaces for your child so the only thing left is to enjoy playing and learning with friends. When we see how they explore, experiment and discover the world around them, we know we have created a little oasis just right for children. TG's success is when each child achieves AND when parents celebrate these achievements right alongside their child - beaming with love, pride and happiness

To a child, a puddle can be an adventure. A stick can become anything. A question can open up an entire new world.

A TG’s Educator sees that too.

Being an Educator at TG’s is more than having qualifications or fulfilling a role. It’s having the ability to enter a child’s world, listen closely, notice what others might miss and recognise the potential within each child.

That is TG’s Way.

Our Educators know when to encourage, when to listen, when a child needs support and when to give them the confidence to discover something for themselves. They build relationships with families and become active members of the communities around their centres.

And as children grow, our Educators grow too, developing a professional identity and leadership they can be proud of.

Because great Educators don’t simply teach children about the world. They never lose the ability to see the wonder in it alongside them.

This is Playing is Learning for Life.

At TG’s, our Educators do much more than guide children’s learning. They help shape the culture children and families experience every day.

That is TG’s Way.

Through the relationships they build, the values they model and the way they work together, TG’s Educators create environments where children feel they belong, families feel welcomed, and everyone has opportunities to grow.

When Educators feel valued, trusted and supported to grow, that positive culture flows through to children, families, their teams and the wider community.

Playing is Learning for Life, and our Educators help make that possible every day.

At TG’s, responsibility is also about discovering that you have something valuable to contribute.

That is TG’s Way, where Trust gives children opportunities to participate meaningfully in the everyday life of their TG’s community.

Children might help prepare a shared space, care for resources, welcome someone into play, or notice when a friend needs a helping hand.

Through these moments, TG’s Educators observe children developing:
• awareness of how their actions affect others
• cooperation and consideration
• a growing sense of belonging and contribution

The outcome goes beyond independence. Children begin to understand, “I am capable, I belong here, and I can make a difference.”

That sense of responsibility helps nurture the compassionate, contributing community members of tomorrow.

This is Playing is Learning for Life.

☀️ EYLF Alignment:
Children develop agency and a sense of connectedness as active contributors to their world.

🪴 NQS Alignment:
• NQS 1: Meaningful everyday experiences that support agency and responsibility
• NQS 6: Partnerships that connect children’s learning with families and community
