🐝 **What a buzz-worthy achievement!** 🐝

We are incredibly proud to announce that five of our talented students have progressed to the **State Final of the Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee!**

Congratulations to our State Finalists:

This week, they will compete against the top 500 spellers in NSW, all vying for a place in the National Finals.

Reaching the State Final is a fantastic achievement and a wonderful reflection of their vocabulary skills, determination and love of learning.

We wish Mia, Kinsley, Karas, Lazar and Bethany the very best of luck. Spell your hearts out, we are all cheering you on! 📚🐝🏆

🎉 HICES Junior Debating Success! 🎉

We proudly congratulate our three St Mark’s Junior debating teams that progressed to the HICES Debating Semi-Finals, an outstanding achievement reflecting their dedication, confidence and teamwork.

We are especially delighted to announce that St Mark’s Junior Debating Team 2 has advanced to the HICES Debating Grand Final!

Congratulations to our talented Years 5 and 6 debaters:

⭐ Jonathan Awadalla

From 311 competing schools, the competition is now down to the final two teams. We are incredibly proud of our students and wish them every success when they compete at Penrith Anglican College on Thursday, 10 September.

🏕️ Year 6 Camp Adventures!

Our Year 6 students had a fantastic time at CCC Hawkesbury from Wednesday 19 to Friday 21 August!

From archery and crate climbing to a range of outdoor challenges, students embraced every opportunity to strengthen their teamwork, communication and resilience.

It was wonderful to see them step outside their comfort zones, build new friendships and create lasting memories together. 💙

Important Update - 30-Year Anniversary Gala Dinner

It is with genuine disappointment that we advise our community that the St Mark’s 30-Year Anniversary Gala Dinner will no longer be proceeding.

Despite the wonderful support and encouragement we have received, ticket sales have unfortunately not reached the level required to responsibly proceed with an event of this scale.

This decision was not made lightly. We had sincerely hoped to bring together generations of students, alumni, families, staff and friends to celebrate this significant milestone.

🎤 Celebrating Our Secondary Debaters!

During today’s assembly, we proudly recognised our Secondary School HICES Debating teams for their fantastic efforts throughout the year.

A special congratulations to our Middle team, who remain in the competition and will contest the Quarter Finals this Monday, we wish them every success! 🙏🏆

On Friday 7 August, our Year 4 students enjoyed an exciting, hands-on learning experience during the ‘What’s the Matter?’ Science Incursion.

Through a range of engaging experiments and activities, students explored the properties of matter, made predictions, investigated different materials and discovered how matter can change.

It was wonderful to see their curiosity and enthusiasm throughout the day—there were certainly plenty of ‘wow’ moments!

What an incredible achievement from our Year 7 students! In Week 3, they earned an outstanding 249 merits - their highest total so far!

This is a fantastic reflection of the positive choices, respectful behaviour and commitment to our school values that our Year 7 students are demonstrating each day.

Keep up the amazing work, Year 7! Let’s see if we can beat this record next week!

Our students are having a fantastic time at Perisher—building their skills, enjoying the snow and making plenty of great memories along the way! ❄️🏔️
