50 Years of Deadly! Each year, Our Lady of Mt Carmel Catholic Primary School will be dedicating this wall to the yearly NAIDOC theme to keep the spirit of NAIDOC alive every day of the year. Many thanks to William Johnson who designed and painted the wall, including the hand print of every child in the school. And a big thank you to Aunty Joan who helped unveil the mural.

NAIDOC 2026 50 Years of Deadly!
OLMC celebrated NAIDOC last week culminating in a special day starting with a delicious BBQ breakfast. The official part of the day began with a smoking ceremony, then traditional dances were performed by OLMC and Jarjum College, and our NAIDOC mural, painted by local artist William Johnson, unveiled. The kids enjoyed lots of Indigenous games and activities as well to celebrate this important week.
