My Body, My Bubble
…… National Child Protection Week
As part of National Child Protection Week, the children explored the important concept of body safety, personal space and boundaries through a sensory experience of creating their very own personal “bubble.”
Through thoughtful conversations and playful exploration, children considered what it means to have space around our bodies, how we can recognise when someone is too close, and the importance of feeling safe, respected and in control of our own bodies.
Our children explored that everyone’s bubble can be different — and that it is okay to say “stop,” “I don’t like that,” or “I need some space.”
Just as importantly, we talked about listening when someone else communicates a boundary.
These everyday conversations help build children’s confidence, language and understanding of consent, body autonomy and respectful relationships.
Every child has the right to feel safe, to have their boundaries respected, and to know that their voice matters.
