As we continue learning about caterpillars, this morning during group time, we spent some time learning some facts about caterpillars. Did you know caterpillars have 6 pairs of eyes? Shaziah shouted out loud.

During our group time, we did a bit of reflection on what we had been learning for the past few weeks. It was amazing to hear our little friends sharing their memories with others. After the reflection, we all got ready for nature exploration. We got our hats, put on our safety vests and sunscreen, and got all ready to go out in the wild for some bug/insect hunting.

As we walked down to the bush, we saw so many ant huts in the middle of the footpaths. Once we arrived at the park, we got our magnifying glasses out and got onto hunting. Our first hunt, ants. Dorothea called out to Miss Nisha with a big smile and said, "Look, Miss Nisha, there are so many ants here." We spent some time understanding what the ants were trying to do. Where were they coming from and where were they going? We followed a few of them and learnt that they made their huts underground. They had a tiny hole for them to get in and out from.

Our second hunt, spiders. Miss Jacynta found 2 spiders, and the children were thrilled to see the spiders. We used our magnifying glass to look at the spiders up close. Elijah was excited to spot the eyes of the spider through the magnifying glass. Unfortunately, we couldn't find any other bugs or insects. But we had the best time hunting for them. We all worked in groups throughout, helping each other.

🧸 Teddy Bear Picnic – A Beary Special Day at Roseberry House! 🧺🌸

Today, Roseberry House was filled with smiles, laughter and cuddly companions as we celebrated our much-anticipated Teddy Bear Picnic Day! Children from every room were invited to bring along their favourite teddy bear from home and join us for a wonderful whole-centre picnic in our beautiful front yard.

The front yard was transformed into a cosy picnic space, with picnic mats laid out for each room and adorable teddy bears waiting to welcome everyone. It was heartwarming to see the children proudly introducing their special teddy bears to their friends and educators, sharing stories and creating a wonderful sense of belonging across the centre.

Once everyone had gathered, we enjoyed a delicious picnic-style morning tea together. A big thank you to Miss Jo, who prepared yummy muffins for everyone to enjoy! Alongside the muffins, the children shared fresh fruit, crackers and everyone's favourite Tiny Teddy biscuits, making it a true teddy bear feast.

After our picnic, the fun continued as the children explored a variety of engaging experiences set up throughout the yard. They danced and grooved to cheerful music, participated in group games, explored creative activities and spent quality time playing alongside friends from different rooms. The morning provided wonderful opportunities to build friendships, strengthen our sense of community and simply enjoy being together outdoors.

Our Teddy Bear Picnic was a beautiful reminder that some of the best memories are made through shared experiences, laughter and spending time with those we care about—both big and small, including our cuddly teddy bear friends!

Today in Banksia Room, we began an exciting new learning journey about construction. Recently, some children were observed in the outdoor loose parts area using blocks, cardboard boxes and pipes to create their own constructions. Seeing their enthusiasm inspired us to explore the world of construction even further.

Miss Nisha has started transforming part of our room into a construction site. To introduce the topic, she talked with the children about what construction means. Together, we discovered that construction is all about building things. The children eagerly shared their ideas about what can be built:

Dot: "A house!"

Briella: "Roads!"

The conversation continued as children shared their experiences and knowledge. Dot proudly told us that her dad is a bricklayer and wears a safety hat, safety boots and goggles at work to stay safe.

Later, the children enjoyed creating their own mini houses using sticks, sticky paper and tape. This hands-on activity encouraged creativity and problem-solving while supporting the development of fine motor skills. Children also practised sharing materials, taking turns and engaging in meaningful conversations with their peers.

!! Learning About Sea Creatures !!

As we explore about sea animals our kindy children are learning about starfish. The table was prepared with paper starfish templates, coloured paper, glue sticks, glitter.

Our children were highly engaged, asking questions about where starfish live and how they move.

As the activity progressed, each starfish became unique. Some were covered in glittering textures.

At the end of the activity, the children proudly displayed their starfish and shared short reflections about their work. Many expressed excitement about learning more about ocean animals in future activities.
