Last week, our team participated in a friendly competition of creating a Book Week display; child inspired, child artwork, and you might notice their costumes matched their room theme.

Bilbies (0yrs - 2yrs) - Toy Story, inspired for children starting their journey with us at Little Tackers and a trip down memory lane for their families.

Joeys (15mths - 24mths) - The Rainbow Fish, from the children love of animals and ocean noises, the whole room was turned into underwater oasis.

Wombats (18mths - 3yrs) - Dear Zoo, another classic, with children voice describing all their animals, creating the cutest little zoo nook.

Possums (2.5yrs - 4yrs) - Possums Magic, how fitting for our possums to create this little bit of magic based of this Australian classic.

Koalas (3yrs - 5yrs) - Koalas Symphony, each child expressed their love for their favourite book and created a wonderful symphony of stories.

🔬🧪 National Science Week 2026 🧪🔬

This week we are celebrating National Science Week, Australia's annual celebration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). It is a wonderful opportunity for children to explore, investigate, ask questions and discover how the world around them works through hands-on play and learning.

✨ 2026 Theme: Decoding the Universe – Exploring the Unknown with Nature's Hidden Language

This year's theme encourages us to look closely at the amazing patterns, systems and hidden connections found in nature and our universe. From the tiny veins on a leaf to the movement of the stars, science helps us understand the incredible world around us.

At Little Tackers, we believe children learn best through curiosity, exploration and hands-on experiences. National Science Week is the perfect opportunity to encourage critical thinking, creativity and a lifelong love of learning.
We can't wait to share our scientific discoveries with our families throughout the week! 💚🔬✨

It’s Dental Health Week! Dental health is super important and together we can make everyone aware 🦷

The school dental can is now open for children in the early years - ask one of our friendly staff for a registration form!

We are also lucky enough to have the Travelling Tooth Fairy coming our way in October; stay tuned!

👖 Jeans for Genes Day 2026 👖

1 in 20 kids face a birth defect or genetic disease, like cancer, cystic fibrosis, and other life-threatening conditions.

The Children’s Medical Research Institute are asking for help to find treatments and cures by fundraising for us, making a donation or buying gear, and sharing awareness.

We are inviting families to join the initiate by wearing Jeans on 6th August 2026 🗓️

Some fun initiatives to participate with in honour of Jeans for Genes are attached in comments.
