📚Book Week is in full swing at Little Buckets! 📚

We’ve been celebrating all things books, stories and imagination, and what better way to do it than teaming up with Scholastic to host our very own Book Fair! 📖💛

Our friends have had so much fun exploring all the different stories and discovering new favourites. The Very Hungry Caterpillar 🐛🍎 and Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? 🐻🌈 were definitely among the favourites!

There were plenty of smiles, excited little readers and, of course, lots of fun along the way. 🥰📚

We wrapped up our special Book Week with a sweet activity — making gingerbread men!

Our little friends took turns mixing and pouring the ingredients before choosing their favourite cookie cutters to create their own gingerbread men.

A fun hands-on activity helping develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and concentration - with plenty of smiles along the way!

Continuing our Book Week celebrations today, we jumped into the fun world of Piranhas Don’t Eat Bananas!

The Pre-Kindy children loved the story and were very quick to agree that piranhas definitely do not eat bananas!

After reading, we got creative and painted a big, bright yellow banana to add to our Book Week wall. We chatted about how the banana connected to the story and counted how many bananas we could spot.

We’re thinking of everyone at Kingsley - Care for Kids School of Early Learning following the devastating fire that has impacted their service. Our thoughts are especially with the children, families, educators and the entire team during this incredibly difficult time. ❤️
We’d also like to let families know that our doors are open. We currently have vacancies and would be more than happy to welcome children from the Kingsley service into our centre, whether that’s on a casual or temporary basis while the Care for Kids Kingsley community gets back on its feet.

We know how important continuity, familiarity and care are for children and families during times of uncertainty, and we’re here to help in any way we can.

Today our Kindy children became little letter detectives! 🔎

They chose a mystery wrapped letter, carefully unwrapped it and then searched our letter chart to find the matching letter.

It was wonderful to see their excitement as they recognised letters, explored their sounds and celebrated each little success. The activity also helped build fine motor skills through all that careful peeling and unwrapping!

Fine Motor Fun

Big squeezeee!

We practised our pre kindy kids fine motor skills by using tweezers to pick up pom poms and carefully place them into the cups.

We also love counting how many pom poms are in each cup while strengthening our little ones grip and hand muscles.
