🌱🔬 A Day of Science, Agriculture & Inspiration! 🌿

Yesterday, our Year 6 students and several of our senior students had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Awards Day & Ag Science Expo, celebrating the 2026 ‘Fungal Forensics’ themed DPI Hermitage Schools Science Competition as part of National Science Week.

There was plenty to see, explore and discover, with interactive science displays and presentations covering fascinating topics from plant pathology to soil science. Our students also had the opportunity to learn more about agriculture and STEM careers, with representatives from UniSQ, UQ and QUT sharing their knowledge and experiences.

🌿 And what a special highlight it was to meet Costa Georgiadis! Costa shared his passion for gardening, sustainability and the natural world, providing plenty of inspiration for our students.

It was a fantastic day of hands-on learning, exploration and inspiration, connecting our students with the incredible opportunities that exist across science, agriculture and STEM. 🌱💚

📚💛 BOOK WEEK – SHARING A LOVE OF LITERACY 💛📚

On Monday, our Year 5 students enjoyed reading with our Prep students, before then sharing stories with our Year 1 students.

Our Year 1 students also proudly shared some of their own writing with the Year 5s — what a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their creativity and hard work! ✏️📖

It was fantastic to see our older and younger students learning from one another and sharing their love of books, reading and literacy together.

📚🎶 BOOK WEEK 2026 – A SYMPHONY OF STORIES! 🎶📚

What a wonderful way to celebrate Book Week at Warwick Christian College! Today our school came alive with colour, creativity and plenty of imagination as our students took part in our Book Week Parade. 🌟📖

With our theme, “Symphony of Stories,” students brought their favourite books and characters to life with an amazing array of costumes. From beloved storybook characters to creative and clever interpretations, there was so much to admire! 🎭✨

A huge thank you to our students, parents and staff for the effort and creativity that made today’s parade such a special celebration. ❤️

We love celebrating the joy of reading and the wonderful stories that inspire, encourage and transport us to new worlds! 📚🎶

From Allora to the world stage! 🌟

Southern Downs Youth Council members were inspired by local climate change champion Sally Higgins, who recently joined their meeting to share her journey from regional Queensland to her role as Australia's incoming COP31 Presidency Youth Climate Change Champion.

Sally encouraged our young leaders to embrace their regional perspective, reminding them that their voices, experiences and ideas matter.

Sally's message was clear: where you come from doesn't limit where you can go!

It’s BOOK WEEK!!!! 🎉 This year’s theme is “Symphony of Stories” – celebrating the wonderful world of books, where every story has its own rhythm, characters and adventures! 📖✨

🏐 Monday: 2 teams head off to the Premier Sports Ipswich Volleyball Carnival
🏃 Tuesday: Darling Downs (10–12yrs) – Field Events
📚 Wednesday: Book Week Parade – 9:00am & Darling Downs (10–12yrs) – Track Events
🔬 Thursday: Science Excursion
