Warwick State High School was once again proud to be invited to participate in the 2026 Hermitage Research Centre Awards Day, marking the event’s impressive 30th year. The day brought together students from across the state to celebrate achievement, learning and innovation in agriculture and research.

Students had plenty of opportunities to explore the many interactive displays and activities on offer, from sniffer dogs demonstrating their skills in detecting fire ants, to crop, disease, insect and fish identification, as well as learning about mung bean production.

A special highlight was the opportunity for students to meet and chat with the much-loved Costa Georgiadis from Gardening Australia, who shared his enthusiasm and passion for gardening and the environment.

Our students are to be commended for the positive energy, enthusiasm and curiosity they brought to the day as they interacted with students and industry representatives from across the state.

Our rewards trip students have arrived at Suncorp and hoping the Broncos can put on a great show!

We shopped up a storm at Indooroopilly Shopping centre and sampled lots of tasty food court treats.

🌟 Aspire 2 Health Workshop 🌟

On Wednesday, 26 August, 12 amazing students attended the Aspire 2 Health Workshop held at the Griffith Clinical Training Centre.

Students took part in a range of interactive activities and experienced different areas of the health industry, including:

🩺 Occupational Therapy
👩‍⚕️ Nursing
🤰 Midwifery
🩻 Medicine
💊 Pharmacy
🚑 Paramedicine

Our students represented themselves and Warwick State High School amazingly, and we are very proud of their enthusiasm and participation!

A big thank you to The University of Queensland, Griffith University, UniSQ, Rural Medical Education Australia, Southern Queensland Rural Health, Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise, and the Darling Downs and West Moreton Primary Health Network for providing this wonderful opportunity.

🏅 What an incredible result for WSHS Athletics! 🏅

A huge congratulations to our amazing WSHS athletes who competed at the DD Trials last Wednesday and Thursday! 🎉
It was a very successful couple of days, with our students achieving an outstanding:

🥇 9 Gold Medals
🥈 7 Silver Medals
🥉 8 Bronze Medals
Even more exciting, 17 WSHS students have been selected in the DD Team and will go on to compete in October! 🙌👏

We are incredibly proud of the dedication, effort and sportsmanship shown by all our athletes. A fantastic achievement and a wonderful reflection of the talent and commitment within our school community.

Southern Downs Youth Council members were inspired by local climate change champion Sally Higgins, who recently joined their meeting to share her journey from regional Queensland to her role as Australia's incoming COP31 Presidency Youth Climate Change Champion.

Sally encouraged our young leaders to embrace their regional perspective, reminding them that their voices, experiences and ideas matter.

Sally's message was clear: where you come from doesn't limit where you can go!
