Such an honour to be performing as Diane in “Come From Away”.
What makes this even more special is the opportunity to share it with one of my ex-students, the insanely talented Eloise Smpsn 💛💙💚
✨Stop the world - Eloise and Maja are equally excited to be playing Diane in Come From Away!✨
🧳Eloise first joined us in 2005 for 'The Music Man', and while being a musical efficionado her whole life, Maja found Holiday Actors in 2012 as a vocal director for 'South Pacific' - and neither of them have been too far away from us ever since!
✈Eloise's favourite part of the show is everything that happens in the bar, but Maja can't go past our opening number Welcome To The Rock. Maja can't pick a favourite person to watch because she loves everyone, but Eloise has a special spot in her heart for Vanessa as Beverley/Annette.
🎟Maja has a Bachelor of Music Majoring in Classical Voice, and Eloise brings a wealth of dance training and knowledge to the table!
📸What are they most looking forward for the audience seeing?
"Ali's direction brain is amazing - I am really excited for all of the stagecraft and clever movement." - Eloise
"This show is so different and unique. It send you on an emotional journey. Be prepared to laugh, cry, and ride the roller coaster of all the feels!" - Maja
🤩The takeaway message?
"I think it's summed up nicely by the lyric "Somewhere in between the pace of life and work and where you're going, something makes you stop and notice, and you're finally in the moment". In the face of something truly awful, it can be a reminder to us all to actually exist more in the here and now." - Eloise
"There is always something good to come from challenging experiences. We can grow and learn, and become wiser and stronger from difficulties. And as humans, we really are incredible. Supporting one another regardless of age, gender, religion, race or colour, is so important. We are all people. Love rules all." - Maja
Catch Maja Pearson in the Blue Cast and Eloise Simpson in the Yellow Cast! Full cast performance details can be found on the Lighthouse Website.
