Join us for our BPW South West Annual General Meeting, followed by dinner and an inspiring evening with Sherry Johnstone — a proud Keerray Woorroong and Yorta Yorta artist, designer and entrepreneur.

As founder of Flash1A and Spirit & Soul Creations, Sherry brings together contemporary Aboriginal art, luxury knitwear and storytelling to share her connection to Country, culture and community.

From her creative beginnings to showcasing at the Beyond Blak runway at Melbourne Fashion Festival, Sherry’s journey demonstrates what can happen when creativity, culture and entrepreneurship come together.

Come along and hear Sherry share her journey, her vision and her passion for encouraging others to pursue their dreams with purpose and authenticity.

At our September dinner meeting we will also be holding our AGM. As with each year we are always looking for people to join our committee. We can scale up and down, you can take on a specific role or be a general committee member to get a feel for it. If this sounds like something you are interested in please reach out to a committee member you know or pop a message here and one of us can give you a call. Its a great way to get some experience in a flexible and support environment.

As a proud partner in the Respect 2040 Project, BPW South West is inviting our members and their networks to help create a powerful new image library that reflects the people of South West Victoria.

We’re looking for everyday people—not professional models—to feature in authentic images that promote respect, gender equality, diversity, equity and inclusion. We’d love to hear from women and men of all ages, cultures, abilities, identities and backgrounds, as well as families, friends, colleagues and community groups who reflect the rich diversity of our region.

We’re also looking for:
Offices, businesses and other workplace settings that could be used for photoshoots.
Organisations and community groups willing to share this opportunity through their networks.

Photography will take place throughout August, with the Respect 2040 Image Library launching in September.

If you know someone who would enjoy being involved, have access to a suitable location, or can help spread the word, we’d love to hear from you. Together, we can build a free community resource that helps tell positive, inclusive stories and supports respectful relationships and gender equality across our region.
