This year, as we learn and celebrate Remembrance Day, we join with Avalon RSL Sub-Branch in showing our respect and support for the Armed Forces community, those currently serving, ex-serving personnel and their families.

We are endeavouring to teach our young ones about the significance of history and the importance of cherishing peace.

The red poppy symbolises remembrance, hope for a peaceful and positive world and commemorates the soldiers who fought and died in war. Poppies were chosen as a symbol because they often grew in the battlefields after the soldiers stopped fighting.

Our crafted poppies will be displayed for all to enjoy throughout Avalon RSL Sub-Branch from today.

“When the sun goes down, we will remember all of our soldiers,”
as recollected by one of our young people. ❤️
