๐ง๏ธ๐Reconciliation Week - Jarjum Initiative ๐ง๏ธ๐
Despite the rain, our National Reconciliation Week Jarjum gathering was full of connection, culture and community.
With over 50 students and 20 families and school delegates attending, students engaged in cultural learning, storytelling, collaborative activities and connection across schools within Catholic Schools Broken Bay. A highlight was seeing our older students mentor and support younger Jarjums throughout the afternoon.
A huge thank you to St Paulโs Catholic College for warmly welcoming our Mater Maria students into their space and helping make the day so special.

This year's National Reconciliation Week theme, "All in", reminds us that reconciliation is a shared responsibility. In that spirit, we're proud to celebrate our talented Year 12 Music students and Vocal Ensemble, who have once again been selected to feature in Reconciliation Australiaโs special choir project, an incredible achievement for the third consecutive year!
Joining voices with choirs from across the country, our students performed โBeds Are Burningโ by Peter Garrett, Jim Moginie and Rob Hirst of Midnight Oil, sharing a powerful message of unity, truth and reconciliation.
We are so proud to be part of this meaningful project, which reminds us that we all live, learn and grow on the sacred lands of Australiaโs First Nations peoples.
Watch the video below (our students appear from 1:26โ1:35).

Year 12 Engineering students visited HARS Aviation Museum as part of their aeronautical engineering unit, gaining valuable insight into aviation and engineering in action. A big thank you to Captain Bob for showing students the cockpit of a Boeing 747, and to our fantastic guides Martin and Reg for sharing their time, knowledge and expertise.
Students also toured the workshop and heard first-hand from the team restoring historic aircraft, making for a fantastic hands-on learning experience that brought engineering to life.
