This week is National Skills Week! We were proud to be in Goulburn delivering a RIEP program to 14 local students, from various high schools who had the opportunity to explore vocational education and training pathways, build their skills and discover where those skills could take them.
The students participated in a day of experiences, information, gaining knowledge of pathways to the Early Childhood sector and what a day in the life of an educator looks like. We took the students to visit local Early Childhood services where they put the information and learning into practice spending time with the children doing various experiences and speaking with the educational leader. This was a great way to celebrate the power of skills to create opportunities and shape brighter futures!

What does it mean for children to simply be?

In the rush of routines and learning outcomes, it's important to create space for children to develop confidence, autonomy, and a strong sense of self.

Join A Place To Be Me and explore how the EYLF concept of being can guide meaningful interactions, thoughtful environments, and opportunities for children to express their individuality.

🌱 Planting the Seeds for Future Growth 🌱

Our young gardeners at Alunga Education and care service have been getting their hands dirty as they learn all about planting and caring for seeds. From filling seed trays with soil to carefully sowing seeds, every step is an opportunity to develop responsibility, patience and an understanding of how living things grow.

Gardening experiences encourage children to connect with nature, build fine motor skills and discover the joy of nurturing something from the very beginning. We can't wait to watch these seedlings sprout and flourish in the weeks ahead! 🌻🌿

πŸ‘ A big shout out to Amanda!
Amanda recently featured in the South Coast Careers campaign, helping shine a light on the diverse and rewarding careers available in our region. We're grateful for her willingness to share her story and give others a glimpse into her life.
Stories like Amanda's help inspire future career builders to think regional and discover the opportunities right on their doorstep.
Well done, Amanda. We're proud to have you on our team!

πŸ“’ Interested in joining Amanda's team? We're currently recruiting for an Early Childhood Educator (Diploma) at Amanda's service. If you're passionate about making a difference in the lives of young children and want to be part of a supportive, purpose-driven team, we'd love to hear from you. Apply here: https://ectarc.com.au/employment/current-vacancies/early-childhood-educator-diploma-3/

How many of us have had a moment where we thought there had to be a better way?

For Amanda Bittar, it happened while sitting in Sydney traffic. A trip that should have taken 50 minutes took more than two hours.

Today, Amanda is Centre Director at ECTARC Clipper Road in Nowra, where she's continuing to grow her career while enjoying everything she loves about life on the South Coast.

Her story is a powerful reminder that moving regional doesn't have to mean stepping backwards professionally. In Amanda's words:

"My professional aspirations weren't compromised by moving regionally. If anything, there's more opportunity."

We are delighted to share that the children from ECTARC Sanctuary Point Early Education and Care Service had the opportunity to share what early learning means to them with Fiona Phillips MP
A big thank you to our dedicated educators, who create nurturing environments where children's voices are heard, valued, and celebrated every day. πŸ’™

What a lovely return home from Parliament to find some very special messages from the children and educators of ECTARC Sanctuary Point Early Education and Care Service. The children shared what they love most about preschool, what makes them feel happy and safe, what they enjoy learning and what they would like adults and community leaders to know about early learning.
It’s easy to see why children’s voices are so important 🌟 A big thank you to all our early childhood educators. Early learning is about so much more than preparing for school, it’s about building confidence, resilience, relationships, and a love of learning.
