🐸💧 Early Years Program for Poorneet - the Tadpole Season! 🌱☀️

As spring arrives, our ponds, creeks and wetlands begin to fill with life. Tiny tadpoles wriggle and grow, reminding us that Poorneet is a season of transformation, movement and new beginnings.

To celebrate this wonderful time of year, our little learners are creating their very own Tadpole Necklaces!🐸

Through this fun hands-on activity, children explored the changes happening in nature during Poorneet while getting creative and celebrating growth, new life and the energy of spring.

Cultural learning is most meaningful when it becomes an ongoing part of your early learning program, not just a once-a-term experience.

Our Term-by-Term and Kulin Seasons Programs create opportunities for children to explore Aboriginal culture through storytelling, music, movement, art, games, Country and seasonal knowledge.

Aligned with EYLF and VEYLDF, our programs can also support centres looking for meaningful ways to use School Readiness Funding (SRF)to strengthen cultural learning and engagement.

👩🏽‍🏫 **Build educator knowledge and confidence too!**

Centres can include **First Nations Cultural Professional Learning for educators** as part of their year-long package, helping staff support and extend cultural learning between visits and throughout the year.

Because meaningful cultural learning doesn’t have to stop when the incursion ends.

A Year of Culture: Aboriginal Learning Journey for Early Years

Give your kinder community the gift of year-long cultural learning and connection.

Our new Year of Culture Package brings together two of our most popular early learning programs, creating a meaningful journey for both 3–4 and 4–5 year olds.

🌿 3–4 Year Olds
Our Term-by-Term incursions gently introduce Aboriginal culture through stories, music, movement and play, with 4 sessions throughout the year.

🌿 4–5 Year Olds
Our Kulin Seasons Program explores seasonal change, connection to Country, and Aboriginal ways of knowing and being, with 7 sessions throughout the year, finishing with a celebration for the whole community.

Together, these programs provide age-appropriate cultural learning, delivered through culturally responsive pedagogy and aligned with EYLF and VEYLDF outcomes.

Spring brings a wonderful transformation to our waterways as Poorneet, the Tadpole Season, arrives.

Ponds, creeks and wetlands begin to fill with water and life, and tiny tadpoles can be seen wriggling and growing beneath the surface. 🐸💦

Poorneet is a time of change, growth and new life, as nature awakens and the days become longer and warmer.

This September, First Nations Incursions turns 10! 🎉🎂

For a decade, we have been bringing First Nations culture, knowledge and perspectives into early learning centres, schools and communities through engaging, interactive experiences delivered by First Nations educators.

Ten years has taught us something important: the most meaningful cultural learning doesn't happen through a single experience. It grows through relationships, continuity and opportunities to keep learning.

Our own 10-year journey reflects that. We are proud to have built an organisation that schools, early learning centres and communities can return to year after year, and to see many of those relationships continue and grow. 🖤💛❤️

So, as we celebrate our first decade, we're looking firmly towards the next.

This year we have been strengthening our programs to create more opportunities for ongoing cultural learning, from a child's early years through primary and into secondary school. 🎒🎨

Guling (Orchid Season) is marked by golden wattle blossoms, orchids blooming, bees buzzing, and an abundance of flowers returning. A time of renewal, pollination, and activity in nature.

Season themes: Orchids and wattle blooming, bees buzzing, renewal of life.

Our Didgeridoo & Bees Activity is a buzzing, musical journey for little learners!
The didgeridoo’s buzzing drone connects to the hum of bees pollinating flowers. Children explore rhythms that echo the energy of springtime activity.

In this interactive program, children explore the sounds of the didgeridoo alongside the hum and buzz of bees, connecting music with nature and the Kulin seasonal calendar. Based on Guling — orchid season, children discover how bees busily collect pollen and help new life bloom.

Through movement, rhythm, and storytelling, little ones will buzz, dance, and create soundscapes together — celebrating the return of flowers, warmth, and activity in nature. Fun & immersive, this session nurtures creativity, builds listening skills, and fosters respect for Country and First Nations knowledge of the seasons.
