St Paul’s Anglican Grammar School High Performance Program They also benefit from regular guest speakers, access to resources and seminars.

St Paul’s Anglican Grammar School recognises the huge commitment of some of Gippsland’s highest level sporting achievers through the Elite Sports Performers Program (ESP). With over 60 students currently in the program from both the Warragul and Traralgon Campuses of St Paul's, the program allows students who compete at a State, National or International level to balance their educational demands with their sporting commitments. The program assists students with time management, work prioritising, goal setting, communication with staff and stress management. Students in the program have access to specialised athlete careers counselling and a more flexible curriculum. Being part of the ESP program also provides students with a support network of students who have similar commitments.

Australian diver Laura Hingston was a huge hit at the Athlete Seminar Day. Her stories (and footage) of transitioning to diving at 18 after her gymnastic career was cut short were fabulous and the students took away lots from her discussion of goal setting, visualisation and keys to success.

Scott Jamieson, former international and A-League soccer player and current assistant coach at Melbourne City delivered an engaging talk on motivation and reflective practices. Scott’s advice to the student athletes included “Don’t try to be someone you’re not – know who you are and be authentic”.

Our first guest speaker at the HPP Athlete Seminar Day on 9th September was Australian Diamonds squad member Hannah Mundy. Currently playing for the Melbourne Vixens, Hannah shared the highlights and challenges of playing sport at an elite level.

Ms Timmer-Arends, Mrs Park and all the HPP students would like to congratulate Mr Armour on being awarded ‘Coach of the Year’ in the Mornington Peninsula Football Netball League for the third consecutive year. His passion and enthusiasm for coaching has seen the Warragul Industrials Women’s team (Div 1) play off in the 4 of the past 5 grand finals – what an amazing record!

Sidney (Year 9) recently competed in the 2026 Australian Athletics Cross Country Championships that took place in Ballarat. In wet and wintery conditions Sidney came 22nd in his age group and backed up the next day to come 5th in the 2km (x4) mixed relay with fellow HPP student Sapphire. What a fantastic weekend of results!

In August, the 2026 Australian Athletics Cross Country Championships took place in Ballarat. In muddy conditions, Sapphire (Year 9) ran a strong race to place 6th in the U16 race, helping Victoria to secure a bronze medal overall – congratulations on a fabulous result.

Indy (Year 9) capped off a stella season bringing home six trophies in total at the recent New South Wales Game Fishing Association Awards, including NSWGFA Champion Junior Angler Tag & Release and Southern Zone Champion.

Congratulations to Amy B (Year 12) who placed 6th in the Australian National Cross Country Championships. The race was the Under 20, 6km event with over 50 competitors from Australia and New Zealand. Amy was bottom age in this event and was part of Team Vic which had 12 runners in the race.
Amy had two New Zealand runners finish in front of her which means that she actually placed 4th out of all of the Australian runners!
This is a fantastic result for a bottom age runner!

Our first evening seminar was a resounding success with nearly 40 student athletes and their parents joining us to hear from Sophie & Alex from Game Nutrition. The focus of the evening was ‘Game Day Eating’ and the chat was abuzz with questions and comments with everyone taking away some top tips for fueling for performance and recovery.
