There was excitement in the air when 133 Year 8 students arrived at St. St Paul's Anglican Grammar School Traralgon for the inaugural SEISA Middle Leaders Day.

In addition to school-run workshops, SEISA welcomed guest facilitator, Rich Lanham, from Rosedale Community House delivered two sessions challenging and inspiring our younger students to lead - even without a leadership title.

A key message from the day that stayed with our students was delivered by our SEISA Chair, Sam Watson, who challenged the students to 'Do what is right, not what is easy'.

In late Term 3, the SEISA Senior Girls AFLW from St Paul's Anglican Grammar School won through to play in the Herald Sun Shield (AFL Victoria Division 2) competing for the first time, taking on some of the state’s strongest football programs.

Despite not having any Year 12s in the side, the girls held their own all day against older, more experienced teams.

Game 1 – St Paul’s 0.7.7 def. CRC Sydenham 0.4.4

Game 2 – Ballarat Grammar 1.5.11 def. St Paul’s 1.0.6

Game 3 – Padula College 2.0.12 def. St. Paul's 1.2.8

The girls finished second in their pool, narrowly missing out on a spot in the Grand Final. The experience also gave the girls a taste of the standard required to compete at the highest level, particularly with the best schools in the state.
