National Science Week adventures! 🔬🌿

Today we joined three other Family Day Care groups at Gilwell Park in Gembrook for a wonderful day of science in nature! 🍃

We explored the bush, investigated natural scents, went on treasure hunts and used our senses to discover all the amazing little things hiding in our environment. 🔎🌳

We finished our big adventure with lunch and a play at the Gembrook park. Such a beautiful day of curiosity, discovery, friendships and learning outdoors! 💚

🚲🚗 Let’s Get Moving!

We had a busy morning at Drouin Playgroup exploring today’s Let’s Get Moving! theme! The children enjoyed scooping and pouring colourful sensory rice through funnels, creating with playdough and bicycle cutters, and exploring different types of transport through drawing and colouring.

Lots of wonderful hands-on learning, fine-motor development, experimenting and exploring with our friends! 🚲🚂🚗✨

📚🚜 A wonderful morning at Drouin Library!

We loved joining Storytime with the fantastic librarians, singing songs and listening to the stories Moo Hoo and You Choose Farm. Afterwards, the children coloured their own tractors, practised their cutting skills and were so excited to add spinning wheels!

To finish our visit, everyone explored the library, chose books to borrow and learnt how the borrowing system works. It was a busy morning full of literacy, creativity, fine motor learning and community connections. Thank you, Drouin Library, for another fantastic visit! 💚📖

🐑🐴 What a fantastic day at Myuna Farm! 🚜🌿

The children had an amazing time meeting, patting and feeding a variety of farm animals, enjoying pony rides, hopping aboard the farm train and learning all about farm safety and being kind and gentle with animals.

A big thank you to Myuna Farm for such a fun and educational day! 💚🐐🌾

🐾 National Pet Photo Day 🐾

Today we celebrated National Pet Photo Day by sharing special photos of our furry (and feathered!) family members. The children loved talking about their pets, sharing stories with their friends and creating beautiful keepsake photo frames to take home. 💕🐶🐱

It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the special bond between children and their pets while encouraging creativity, communication and conversations about caring for animals. 🐾🎨

Today we explored Aboriginal symbols as part of our NAIDOC Week learning. 📖🖤💛❤️

After reading Welcome to Country, the children used loose parts and natural materials to investigate traditional symbols used to tell stories and represent Country. It was a wonderful opportunity to spark curiosity, celebrate Australia’s First Nations cultures and learn through respectful, hands-on play. 🌿✨

🖤💛❤️ NAIDOC Week at Tash’s Family Day Care ❤️💛🖤

We’ve been celebrating NAIDOC Week through hands-on experiences that encouraged curiosity, creativity and meaningful conversations about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

From sensory play inspired by the Aboriginal flag to creating our own artworks using traditional colours and symbols, the children have enjoyed learning through play while developing respect and appreciation for Australia’s First Nations peoples.

Always learning, always growing. 🌿

🐞🦋 Insect Week at Tash’s Family Day Care! 🐛🐝

What a fantastic week of exploring the tiny creatures that play such a big role in our world!

The children investigated insects using magnifying glasses, explored sensory invitations, searched for bugs, created nature art, learnt through stories, role-played as caterpillars and butterflies, and discovered how insects live, grow and help our environment.

🐛🍎 Pop-Up Playgroup Fun! 🍎🐛

Today we had a wonderful morning at the Warragul Pop-Up Playgroup, exploring the world of The Very Hungry Caterpillar! 🌿🦋

The children enjoyed hunting for insects with magnifying glasses, creating nature art, watering flowers, building with blocks, exploring sensory play, completing caterpillar-themed activities and sharing a healthy snack together.
