Ready, Steady Kindergarten & Beyond is a school readiness program delivered by qualified primary school teachers with extensive experience in Kindergarten.

It is designed to support young learners as they make the positive transition to school.

Today marks the final day of our School Readiness Program for the holidays, and what a wonderful two weeks it has been. It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know each child and beginning to build strong, positive relationships. We are truly amazed by how much the children have learned, the confidence they have gained, and the joy they have brought to every session.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Warragamba Silverdale Neighbourhood Centre for their ongoing support, recognition, and collaboration. It has been a privilege to work alongside such a dedicated and caring community organisation. Together, we have created a nurturing and engaging environment to support our children as they take the important first steps in their learning journey.

It’s truly incredible to see how much our little learners have accomplished in just two weeks! This week, we continued to explore rhyming words through engaging literacy activities. A favourite among the children was strengthening their fine motor skills by cutting out Humpty Dumpty and creatively using bandaids to piece him back together.

In numeracy, we explored shapes using play dough and practised counting with colourful sticky dots, making learning hands-on and fun.

We continue to prioritise student wellbeing, with a strong focus on building friendships and fostering positive relationships. It has been heartwarming to witness the growth in confidence, connection, and curiosity each day.

The second week of our School Readiness Program has commenced, and our little learners are continuing to shine! This week, we’re focusing on rhyming words, shapes, numbers, and building positive relationships.

Through the nursery rhyme Humpty Dumpty, children explored rhyming words, sequenced the story through cut-and-paste activities, and created their names using playdough—supporting fine motor development, early literacy, and a strong sense of belonging.

In numeracy, students engaged with 2D shapes using playdough and colouring, then collaborated to build a city using blocks and number recognition—fostering creativity, early mathematical thinking, and cooperative learning.

Wellbeing remains at the heart of our program. Our little stars are making new friends, practising turn-taking, and learning to navigate social situations with kindness and confidence. It’s a joy to see their growth as they continue their journey toward kindergarten.

First Week Complete at Ready, Steady, Kindergarten and Beyond!

What an incredible first week we have had! Our program is already proving to be a valuable experience for our young learners as they begin their transition to Kindergarten. Throughout the week, we’ve seen new friendships formed, growing confidence, and a strong focus on building essential social and emotional skills.

Through engaging literacy and numeracy experiences, hands-on activities, and targeted support, our students have been developing their fine motor skills, communication, and self-regulation—setting a strong foundation for future learning.

A heartfelt thank you to the Warragamba Silverdale Neighbourhood Centre for their ongoing support, and to the wonderful families who joined us this week.

We look forward to another exciting week ahead—welcoming new friends and continuing to strengthen the relationships formed during our first week.

Day Two of Ready, Steady, Kindergarten & Beyond!

Today, our little learners continued their exciting journey with Incy Wincy Spider, engaging in hands-on learning experiences that supported early literacy, numeracy, and wellbeing.

Through name recognition activities, children began to develop a sense of identity and belonging within our learning community. Spider-themed art allowed them to strengthen fine motor skills while expressing creativity in a fun and meaningful way.

In numeracy, our focus on patterns came to life through interactive experiences such as designing colourful pattern snakes, threading number flowers, and exploring shape puzzles. These activities not only built foundational mathematical skills but also encouraged problem-solving, persistence, and coordination.

Social development was nurtured through group activities, shared learning spaces, and consistent routines, helping children build friendships, practise cooperation, and feel connected to those around them. We continue to create a calm, supportive environment where every child feels safe, valued, and ready to learn.

We are so proud of their enthusiasm, growing confidence, and joyful engagement—and we can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings

We had a wonderful first day at Ready, Steady, Kindergarten and Beyond!

Our morning was filled with rich literacy experiences centred around Incy Wincy Spider. Students explored syllables, developed fine motor skills by creating spiders out of playdough, sequenced the nursery rhyme through cut-and-paste activities, and practised writing their names.

It was a joy to see their confidence grow and friendships begin to blossom.
