Mud play is more than just getting messy, it provides endless opportunities for discovery and experimentation!

Our friends in the Tinker Lab had lots of messy fun playing and splashing in the mud pit.

Engaging in play with mud builds a connection with nature and promotes childrens physical development skills. These experiences encourage imagination and provide an opportunity for endless creations, ideas, games and FUN!

Our Tinker Lab friends have been showing an interest in dump trucks. To extend on this our friends engaged in a creative arts experience to create their own interpretations of dump trucks.

When children engage in creative arts, they are fostering their motor development, sensory and cognitive skills. Children use their imagination and creative skills to create their masterpieces 🎨 👨‍🎨

Our Explorer HQ friends explored sleeping outdoors 😴

Did you know?
Outdoor sleeps can have a positive impact on children’s development and sleep quality. The benefits include improved immune systems, moods, and behaviours. Exposure to natural light and fresh air can help regulate children’s body clocks, leading to a more restful sleep, which supports improved learning and development. 🌞

🚒 This month our Maker Space and Tinker Lab friends had a special visit from Warragamba Fire and Rescue

We were lucky enough to be able to explore the Warragamba fire truck. We all took turns of using the fire hose to hit the safety cones and sitting in the truck.

Did you know… Fire safety education for children is the first line of defence against misuse of fire and injuries. Prevention through education is the single most modifiable strategy that fire services can implement to reduce the risk of fire to children.

This week our Tinker Lab friends visited Warragamba Dam 💧

We boarded TELH bus and headed to the dam where we met Leonie, our special tour guide 🚌

We learnt about dam safety, keeping our water clean, the history of Warragamba Dam and that part of the dam is called ‘Lake Burragorang’.

Our friends participated in a variety of play-based experiences and even drew their own interpretations of the dam ✍🏼

As we looked out to Warragamba Dam, Leonie pointed to the spill way gates and told us when Lake Burragorang overflows the gates open, and the water runs down into Warragamba Dam.

We were able to explore the pipes and then boarded the bus and drove over the dam wall! We were asked to look for a yellow float on our adventures and Leonie explained to us that the yellow float checks the temperature and the cleanliness of the water in Lake Burragorang.

ONLINE FACEBOOK AUCTION - 2023 SIGNED NRL PENRITH PANTHERS JERSEY - CLOSING 8PM 22/09/23 - TO PLACE A BID COMMENT BID AMOUNT BELOW

All proceeds will go directly to the Wowk family in support of Nicky Wowk.

2023 NRL Penrith Panthers signed jersey kindly donated by Alan Harding on behalf of the Penrith Panthers.

Nicky is a sweet and funny boy whose world turned upside down on the 19th of April 2023 when he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) Type B.

Nicky was initially brought into hospital with RSV and within a few days his Leukemia diagnosis was given. Nicky has received lumbar punctures, blood transfers and multiple bone marrow samples have been taken. He is currently on a 6 month course of aggressive chemotherapy treatments that range from 2-3 times per week. He will be following that up with 18 months worth of oral chemotherapy and at home testing. Nicky has also been taken out of day care, away from his friends, as his chemotherapy treatments needs his full attention and strength to get through.

Nicky’s diagnosis has understandably taken an emotional toll on the family and has a huge financial impact as David and Megan take time away from their jobs to support their son through his battle.

As the Wowk family are trying to balance an impossible load, this fundraiser has been created to help support them financially.

No child should ever have to face such an illness and we are so grateful for your help to ease the struggles of the long road ahead. We urge any family who feels their child may be unwell to seek medical attention.

Our appreciation goes out to Caitlin Alderton for making this all possible by organising the signed jersey.

* All the proceeds will go directly to David and Megan Wowk to help cover the expenses associated with caring for a young child with Leukemia.

** The person who comments on the original post the highest amount closest to 8PM 22/09/2023 will be the winning bidder and is required to transfer the full nominated amount into the account provided within 24 hours. If the amount isn't paid within the 24 hours the next hughest bidder will be contacted. The jersey comes as is, not framed and will need to be collected in person from The Early Learning Hub Warradale, 4 Weir Road Warragamba. The Early Learning Hub reserves the rights to remove comments that are offensive and will have the final say on who the winning bidder is. All bids must be written on The Early Learning Hub Warradale original online auction post as individual comments. Anonymous bidders will not be counted as a bid. Reply comments will not be counted as a bid. Once closed The Early Learning Hub will specify on the post that bidding has closed and will declare the winning bidder.
