Healthy Harold – Super Safe Module 🦒

Yesterday, the children from Banksias and Lilly Pillys had a wonderful time participating in the Super Safe module with Healthy Harold!

The children enjoyed learning about road safety, sun safety, making safe choices, and building confidence through fun and engaging experiences. It was fantastic to see everyone actively involved, asking questions, and practising important safety skills that help keep us safe every day.

A big thank you to Healthy Harold and the Life Ed team for delivering such an interactive and meaningful learning experience! 💛

Kijo Care and Darkinjung Seasonal Learning
Kijo Care will be exploring the seasonal knowledge of the Darkinjung people, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we learn and play. Unlike the four European seasons, Darkinjung seasonal understanding is guided by changes in the natural environment, including plants, animals, weather, and the availability of food.
Through this approach, children will learn to observe and connect with Country by noticing signs such as flowering plants, animal activity, and changing weather patterns. These seasonal learnings will be embedded into our daily program through nature play, storytelling, art, and outdoor exploration.
By incorporating Darkinjung seasonal knowledge into our curriculum, Kijo Care aims to foster respect for Aboriginal culture, deepen children’s connection to the natural world, and support a sense of belonging and care for Country.

What an egg-stra special day at our Easter Hat Parade and Egg Hunt! 🐣🎩✨

It was heartwarming to see families come together and join in the fun. The children amazed us with their creative Easter hats, full of imagination!

Excitement filled the air as they searched high and low during the egg hunt, finishing with delicious chocolates at the end 🍫🐰

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day so memorable. We can’t wait to do it all again next year! 💛🌸

Yesterday, the children enjoyed a beautiful Aboriginal sensory experience, exploring different textures, colours, and natural materials through hands-on play. It was wonderful to see their curiosity and excitement as they scooped, sorted, and discovered together.

A special thank you to Jenny from Barang Regional Alliance for organising this meaningful experience for our children. We truly appreciate it. 🌿🖤💛❤️

🌈🎉 Colour, Joy & Big Smiles at KiJo Care! 🎉🌈

Last week KiJo Care was bursting with colour as we celebrated the beautiful festival of Holi! Our space was filled with laughter, music, vibrant colours and plenty of happy faces. 🎶✨

It was a wonderful reminder of what Holi is all about - spreading joy, celebrating friendship and bringing people together.

Moments like these truly make KiJo Care so special. 💛

Join us for Veggie month this month!
KiJo Care will be joining in on the fun of veggie month, encouraging our children, families and educators to explore, learn and taste more vegetables together. 🥦🥕🥔

Veggie Month will run in Early Childhood Education and Care Services over the next 4 weeks. Each week we will share a challenge for families and a veggie packed recipe!

We encourage all families to participate in these challenges.

This week's challenge is to involve your children in preparing vegetables.

Through sweet heart crafts and creative activities, they explored what it means to care, share, and express appreciation for the special people in their lives.
