Dental check-ups can sometimes feel a little overwhelming for children and their families. That’s why we love the Delivering Dental program! 🦷

The program brings visiting dentists directly to CVNLC, giving families the opportunity to enroll their child for a dental check-up in the comfort of a familiar environment — surrounded by their siblings, peers and trusted educators. Families can also choose whether they would like to be present for their child’s appointment.

We love seeing how our children thrive through this experience! Having their favourite educators close by, watching their friends have a turn and knowing what to expect helps build confidence, trust and a sense of security as they wait for their own appointment.

By bringing these experiences into a place where children feel safe and supported, we can help make dental visits a more positive and familiar experience for everyone!

And of course who wouldn't want a turn to choose and wear some really cool sunnies!😎

🎨🌿 Me, Myself and Nature 🌿🎨

We are so lucky to have Miss Yuli, who brings her creativity, artistic ideas and passion for self-expression into our Centre — and especially into our Koala Room! 💚

Over the year, Miss Yuli has been working alongside our Kindy children to explore the beautiful theme “Me, Myself and Nature.”Each child has had the opportunity to create a unique piece of artwork that reflects their own ideas, interests, experiences and connection with the natural world.

And just like every child, every artwork is completely unique! ✨

The children have explored a wonderful variety of creative experiences, including:
🎨 Painting and portraits
🖍️ Drawing and storytelling
👐 Clay sculptures
📄 Paper mache
🌿 Nature-inspired creations
✂️ Craft and mixed media
🤝 Collaborative artworks created together with friends and educators

Some pieces were created independently, while others grew from shared ideas, conversations and collaborative experiences, with children working together and educators supporting their creative thinking and expression.

What makes this project so special is that there is no one “right” way to create. Each artwork represents the individual child — their ideas, imagination, creativity and unique way of seeing the world. 🌏💚

We are so excited to share that the children's “Me, Myself and Nature” artwork will be on display at the Albany Creek Library for the entire month of October! 📚🎨

We would absolutely love for our CVNLC families and community to visit the exhibition, take a moment to observe the children's amazing creations and celebrate their achievements with us! 🥰

A very special thank you to Miss Yuli for inspiring, encouraging and supporting our Kindy children throughout this creative journey. And, of course, a huge well done to our incredible Koala children for sharing their creativity with us! 🌿🎨✨

Miss Lans took a great big sip before handing the cup back to V. V looked inside the empty cup and excitedly said,

Our babies have been bringing the much-loved story to life through sensory play! When we combine stories and hands-on experiences, children build stronger connections between words, ideas and the world around them.

Lunch times are a chance to slow down, relax and enjoy some time together. Our educators create a calm and positive mealtime environment where children are encouraged and supported to explore food, try new things and develop an understanding of healthy eating choices through role modelling, encouragement and praise.

Yes, our educators will often have a small bowl of the same lunch as the children! 🥰 This gives children the opportunity to see the adults around them enjoying the same foods, trying different things and sharing in the mealtime experience together.

Did you know that a baby or child may need to be exposed to a food 10–15 times or more before they feel comfortable enough to try it or develop a liking for it?

It can be easy to offer a food a few times and think, “They don't like that,” but children often need many repeated, positive experiences before a new food feels familiar and safe.

At CVNLC, we don't expect children to love every food straight away. We focus on creating positive, pressure-free experiences where children can see others enjoying food, explore it in their own way and gradually build confidence.

Sometimes, simply seeing, smelling, touching or having a tiny taste is a step forward. 💚

It’s all part of helping children develop a positive relationship with food — one experience at a time.
