Throughout our Centre you will see dozens of meaningfully constructed and maintained relationships between peers and educators. You’ll always be able to find two little friends holding hands, running through the yard, helping one another out, or giving a small embrace. 🥹❤️‍🩹

In the below pictures, one from each of our rooms, you can see some examples of the different bonds that the children have sought out and created themselves.

Developing children’s social skills are imperative to their own emotional development and awareness. Social development supports children in understanding different emotional cues, processes, reactions and overall feelings both within themselves and with others. This is where empathy and compassion begins developing, as the children become aware of their influence and effect over others.

Children rely on connections from the people and spaces around them, which is why at our service we take pride in our environments, approaches, and experiences. Also ensuring our practices and methods are supportive and nurturing, as well as providing our children with leading examples of how they can approach and care for those around them.

Do you know what our entrance is all about? 🤔

Here in Goodstart Warnbro we prioritise community and family partnerships, striving to make meaningful and impactful connections with the people around us. We strive to make our entrance as informative, inclusive and cosy as possible. So in saying that, I wanted to give a little insight to our foyer and what’s going on!

In the photo frames below you can see different images all encased with small labels in front. Each frame holds a different “team” that all play their own important part in the centre. The frames are categorised by room and role, names and job positions included.

Above these frames are where we display our awards, certificates, and necessary regulatory documents. We take heavy pride in what we have achieved, knowing the appreciation and praise has been shown and delivered by our beautiful families, the children and the local community. We would not be where we were if it were not for the relationships we have formed along the way. Each family that joins our service makes their own unique impact, which in turn, supports our ever evolving practices and values.

We then have our book shelf below the frames, which is accessible to all children who enter the service. Our foyer is aimed to be stimulating for anyone who frequents it, even having local and centre based newsletters for parents and guardians to read.

To the left of the bookshelf is another shelving unit that stores some hand made, cultural sensory toys. This area is to recognise and show appreciation to the traditional and rightful custodians of the land that we stand on today.

Finally we have our pamphlets!
They cover a wide range of topics and challenges, ages and developmental areas. All accessible and designed for any of our families or visitors to read/take home. We aim to be as informative and responsive as possible, always acknowledging concerns and questions presented to us.

Oh how our Kindergarteners are growing up…..🥹

Colours + sorting + mathematics = ⬇️

The kindy children have been exploring and delving into their own learning as of late, showing our educators they’re ready for a fun challenge! 💡🕵️

Today the kindergarten children supported their educators in drawing and colouring in a big colour and number coordinated train!
This train was then taken into our outdoor environment as the children began to gather around. This train has different carriages that all have their own designated colours and numbers, alongside this train is a basket of coloured counting teddies. These teddies were used to support the children in visually counting and organising, as well as recognising colours and value. Everyone was able to pick a different section and start experimenting, some children adding in their own twists and interpretations of the activity! 😊

These experiences support our kindergarten children in preparing for school curriculums, build on their developing cognitive abilities, social skills, problem-solving capabilities, numerical analysis, literacy skills, and their language & communication skills!

I’m excited to see where the kindy children take their learning from this experience, what do we think they’ll conjure up next? 👀

Our environments and activities will always enable and encourage children to explore and challenge their abilities, whilst feeling secure and confident within themselves too! We offer various stimulating opportunities every day that directly support the children’s ongoing learning and development.

🎉🧸 Learning through play, all the way 🧸🎉

Sensory experiences are always a big hit and I think our two lovely nursery children here would agree with me! Children are always seeking different ways to explore and manipulate their surroundings, and our educators love providing those opportunities.

Providing children with sensory activities and experiences support young children in growing, developing, and strengthening a wide variety of their skills. Specifically these experiences directly support the children’s fine motor abilities, enhance their developing neural pathways, strengthen their problem solving abilities, increase social opportunities and promote peer engagements.

At Goodstart Warnbro, we listen and adhere to both child AND family input, scaffolding your child’s learning around their interests, needs, parental aspirations, your concerns, household and family goals, and their developmental requirements.

📵✨ Children at Play = Personal Devices Away! ✨📵

Did you know? Personal devices must be kept in a secure location and not be in the possession of centre based staff and any person who is working or engaging with children at a Goodstart centre when children are present. This requirement applies to all Goodstarters, students, volunteers and contractors who work with children.

Goodstart aspires to the highest standard of child safety, which includes digital environments and the use of electronic devices.

We have aligned our policies and practices to the National Model Code and Guidelines, developed by ACECQA and all Governments, to promote a child safe culture when it comes to taking, sharing and storing images or videos of children.
