🔹High-quality teaching comes from a commitment to lifelong learning.
This week our staff stepped out of our own school to explore, observe, and grow through learning walks and talks.
🔹Our staff had the opportunity to visit our neighbouring Armidale Catholic Schools - St Philomena's School Moree
🔹 During this visit we observed lesson structures, explored how to foster positive classroom environments and Data Walls and key aspects of the learning environment. We feel very inspired and are grateful to the staff for their willingness to share! ✨

Thank you to the Mrs Schweitzer the Leader of Pedagogy & Principal Mr Stewart for their time sharing with our school team!

We are very inspired and look forward to continuing our partnership!

💙 Happy Father’s Day to all the incredible men who guide, protect, and love us! 💙

Today, we celebrate the many different faces of fatherhood.
🔹To the new dads navigating sleepless nights and first smiles;
🔹To the seasoned fathers offering wisdom, patience, and steady hands;
🔹To the stepdads, bonus dads, and foster fathers who chose to love unconditionally;
🔹To the grandfathers whose legacy of love spans generations;
🔹To the uncles, brothers, teachers, and mentors who step in to fill the gap with strength and care;
🔹And to those carrying the heavy grief of a missing child, or remembering a dad who has passed on. We hold space for you today, too.

Thank you for the sacrifices you make, the lessons you teach, the adventures you share and the safe spaces you create.

✨You make the world a better place. ✨

Celebrating Storytime & Local Connection! ✨

What a wonderful morning we had celebrating National Indigenous Literacy Day!

Our students loved coming together for a shared story time, tuning in to hear author Corey Tutt read his fantastic book: Come Home, Bigibila especially for students across Armidale Catholic Schools

We were especially thrilled and proud to discover that the stunning illustrations were created by Jessica Tedium a previous student of St Joseph’s Walgett! It is so inspiring for our students to see where a creative path can take them!

The students thoroughly enjoyed the story. We are all looking forward to some wonderful follow-up learning during our language lessons this Friday with Mrs Whalan.

Space just came to life in our classroom! 🚀🌍

Today’s learning intention: We are learning to compare Earth with other planets in our solar system.

Instead of books & the Internet we used AR (Augmented Reality) to physically hold and explore a 3D model of the universe.

Students compared Earth's size, atmosphere, and orbit directly with gas giants like Jupiter making abstract concepts unforgettable!

✨We are grateful to our P & F for supporting our learning in S T E M with some amazing technology to bring our learning to life! ✨

✨ Look at these future big kids go! ✨

We had an absolute blast at our latest Transition session themed around The Very Hungry Caterpillar! 🍎🍐🍊

🔹 Our future students dived into creative art and craft activities, bringing their favourite story to life with colourful creations.

🔹 We went on a very fun scavenger hunt around the library to track down all the delicious things the hungry caterpillar ate along the way! 📚🍓🍰

Seeing our young learners explore, create, and have so much fun together is what makes these sessions so special. They are proving every single week just how ready they are for the big adventure ahead! 🎒✨

🍎📕 Come and see what an education at Joey’s can offer your child and family! 🎒📚

Drop us a message or get in touch to find out more about our transition program and enrolment opportunities.

Thursday 3 September
9am - 12pm
