EARLY LEARNING MATTERS WEEK | Bush Kindy Adventures!

The children had a wonderful time during our Bush Kindy session, working together to create an impressive cubby house. Through teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity, they shared ideas, gathered materials, and collaborated to bring their vision to life.

The children were so proud of what they created together and had great fun exploring and playing in their cubby. Experiences like these help develop confidence, cooperation, and a strong connection with the natural environment.

EARLY LEARNING MATTERS WEEK | Jeral Puppet Show!

To launch Early Learning Matters Week at Waratah we invited the well known 'Jeral Puppet show' to share a collection of stories and songs with our 3-5 aged children. There was lots of laughter, clapping, dance moves and engaging puppets that kept us all in our seats for the full puppet show!

We are now setting up our own puppet shows for the children to become the master of their own show.

EARLY LEARNING MATTERS WEEK | Gosford Principal Visit!

Today we welcomed a special visitor, our school principal! The children enjoyed listening attentively as he read them a story, engaging with the book and sharing their ideas throughout.

As part of our learning about the amazing human body, the principal then helped the children conduct an experiment demonstrating how the kidneys filter toxins from our bloodstream. Using water, glitter, a plastic bottle and paper towel, the children were fascinated to see this important body function in action.

To finish the visit, the principal spent time praying with the children and reminding them of God's love and care for each one of us.

EARLY LEARNING MATTERS WEEK 2026 | Equestrian Fun

During our Early Learning Matters Week celebrations at Waratah, we invited our parent community and school partners to visit for a fun afternoon of games as we celebrated from our interest and learning of the Commonwealth Games and World Cup Soccer.

During our games afternoon we participated in 10 different sports from soccer, to shot put, javelin to equestrian, relays and long jump to name a few. We learnt to work as a team and to encourage each other as we all took turns. Our PREP children have been learning about Connie confidence and Pete Persistence and we used these skills as we tried some new activities. What we enjoyed most was working together and having fun through play.

Thank you to our Deputy CEO Graeme Evans for visiting and showing some equestrian talent!

This week we are celebrating Early Learning Matters Week!

Organised by Early Childhood Australia, this nation-wide movement acknowledges how much those first years of learning a shape a child for the whole of their life.

All of our Narnia Early Learning centres have dedicated events this week that bring together educators, families, and our community to celebrate the quality early learning education our educators provide every day.

Join us this week in celebrating our Early Learning community, and the incredible curiosity and wonder that is fostered across our centres.

Painting what we see!

Today the children used our Narnia outdoor learning spaces as their inspiration, creating paintings of the mud kitchen, citrus trees and the lemons and oranges growing on them. Some chose to focus on the fruit, while others captured the wider environment. Experiences like these encourage observation, creativity and a connection with the natural world while supporting children's confidence in expressing their ideas through art.

Sensory Play | NAIDOC Week Education

During NAIDOC Week at Wyong Narnia, the children learnt about Indigenous culture through a range of sensory experiences. Together, we read stories, sang songs, and engaged in activities that acknowledged and celebrated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives. These meaningful experiences encouraged curiosity, respect, and an appreciation for the rich cultures, histories, and connections to Country of Australia's First Nations Peoples.

As NAIDOC Week comes to a close, we want to encourage our community to continue to engage in meaningful discussions around reconciliation, culture, and identity.

NAIDOC Week is a national celebration held each year that recognises and honours the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations histories and cultures, engage with local communities, and celebrate the world’s oldest continuing living cultures.

At St Philip's Christian Education, we've been discussing the theme "50 Years of Deadly", and what culture, identity, and pride can look like in various communities. Thank you to our team at for their wisdom and guidance.
