HSC SHOWCASE 2026

On Tuesday evening, guests were invited to enjoy the impressive Design and Technology and Visual Arts major works on display in the Theatre foyer, highlighting the creativity and innovation of our Year 12 students.

Following this, our HSC Music 1 and Music 2 students took to the stage, performing selections from their HSC repertoires alongside a team of professional musicians. Their dedication and musicianship were evident in every performance, with each student receiving a standing ovation from the audience.

We are incredibly proud of all the students involved and wish them all the very best as they prepare for their final HSC practical examinations in the coming weeks.

TEDXNEWY YOUTH FUTURE LAB
Our Year 9 and 10 students recently joined young people from across Newcastle at the TEDxNewy Youth Future Lab, pitching innovative ideas to make our city smarter and kinder for young people.

We're proud to share that three SPCC Newcastle teams were recognised with awards on the day. Congratulations to all students who participated and represented our College so well.

SPCC FATHER’S DAY BREAKFAST
More than 200 fathers and their families gathered in the Theatre Foyer yesterday morning for our annual SPCC Father's Day Breakfast, enjoying a wonderful time of community, connection and celebration. Families enjoyed freshly served bacon and egg rolls and captured special memories at the Father's Day photo walls, marking the occasion. A special thank you to our Year 11 Student Leaders and staff volunteers who helped make the event such a success. We wish all fathers and father figures in our SPCC community a happy and blessed Father's Day this weekend.

YEAR 7 STUDENTS CELEBRATE SCIENCE WEEK WITH REPTILES
Last Thursday, Year 7 celebrated Science Week with a fascinating reptile show. Staff from Hunter Wetlands visited the College, giving students the opportunity to see and touch a variety of Australian reptile species. It was a fantastic hands-on learning experience that allowed students to engage with Australian wildlife and further develop their understanding of concepts explored in the Year 7 Biology unit of study.

BULLYING NO WAY WEEK
Last week, our College joined schools and communities across Australia in recognising Bullying No Way Week. Students explored how everyday acts of kindness, inclusion and friendship can help create a culture where everyone feels they belong. On Wednesday, our Ministry Team and student leaders hosted a Fairy Bread Party, bringing students together for fun, connection and an important reminder that support is always available when it’s needed.

SPCC COLOUR FUN RUN FUNDRAISING – WE’RE HALFWAY THERE!

Thanks to the incredible support of our wonderful SPCC community, we have officially reached the halfway mark in our fundraising efforts for the SPCC Colour Fun Run. Together, we have raised more than $30,000 towards our $60,000 goal in support of Beyond Christian Academy in Malawi.

With just two weeks to go until the event, we are incredibly grateful for the generosity shown so far and encourage everyone to keep the momentum going. The Colour Fun Run is a highlight of the year for our students, and every contribution helps make a real and lasting difference.
