Victorian Jazz Workshops Learn the finer points of jazz improvisation

The aim of the Victorian Jazz Improvisation Workshops is to foster an interest in, and enable musicians to keep alive TRADITIONAL JAZZ. The spirit of improvisation and creativity within disciplined parameters such as in this art form can be a very rewarding experience for both musicians and listeners, regardless of age, but education is the key. The music in this country has a distinctly Australian character and has a history of its own, due to the passing down of knowledge from generation to generation and by musicians regularly having “jam” sessions at festivals and conventions. To continue the growth and development of this unique art form, we must enable young musicians to discover the joys of playing together and appreciating our past.
