Throughout this term, our wonderful Year 6 students have been visiting kindergarten students at Watch Me Grow and Greenleaves Early Learning Centres. They had a fantastic time reading stories, making fun finger puppets to match the books, and giving the little ones a sneak peek into primary school life.
They even introduced the kinder kids to some of our favourite school community members - our school chickens and bunny - through colouring sheets and photos!
It was wonderful to see our Year 6s step up as mentors, bringing so much energy, kindness, and big smiles to every activity. Whether these future students are starting school soon or have a few more years of kinder fun ahead, it was a joy to help build their confidence for the big adventures to come!

Last week, our Year 3/4 students swapped the classroom for the city streets for an unforgettable "City Experience" excursion!
As part of this term's inquiry unit, our young explorers dived deep into Melbourne's rich culture and history. At the Birrarung Wilam Walk, they discovered First Nations culture, local Aboriginal history, and native plants through engaging storytelling. Over at the National Gallery of Victoria, history truly came to life through art, visual analysis, and exploring different perspectives of our nation's past.
We are so proud of how our students represented the school while connecting their classroom learning to the real world!

Yesterday, our Preps dressed up as their favourite Community Helpers to bring to life to their Inquiry learning for the term. We have to admit, the school felt a whole lot safer with all these mini helpers on duty!
We were also lucky enough to have a special visit from our local firefighters and the SES, who taught the students all about the vital work they do. We are so grateful for everything they do for our community and for making this such an unforgettable day of learning.

Blessings and congratulations to our wonderful Year 4 and parish catechist students who received the Sacrament of First Eucharist on Sunday!
It was a beautiful celebration of faith, family, and community. We are so proud of these children as they take this significant step in their faith journey. Please join us in keeping them in your prayers.

At our school, food is about more than just eating - it’s about connection, community, and culture! Through our 4-week "Let’s COOK!" program, students across all year levels get the incredible opportunity to dive into the culinary world. From nurturing the produce in the garden to preparing the dishes and sharing a warm meal with classmates, they learn what it truly means to bring food from patch to plate.
This week, our Year 5/6 students brought the program to life with a vibrant, flavourful Filipino theme! Our young chefs enjoyed chopping, sautéing, and serving up some absolute magic.
Gathering around the table is such a beautiful way to practice our faith through community and the tradition of breaking bread together. A massive thank you to all the wonderful parents who join us in the kitchen to share this experience with their children. We love seeing our community come together in fellowship over a great meal!

The weather outside was cold and wet, but it didn't dampen the spirits of our resilient Year 1/2 students this week! They happily braved the rain for an exciting excursion to Wantirna Mall, bringing their classroom learning about the local community to life.
Armed with clipboards, our young explorers took part in a Community Scavenger Hunt and loved getting hands-on with some local businesses:
- Wantirna Fresh Fruit: Independently choosing and buying a healthy fruit snack.
- Wantirna Mall Post & News: Purchasing a stamp and mailing a letter home!
- Eugenes: Going behind the scenes with a special tour of the kitchen - a huge student favourite!
This was a fantastic, practical way for students to see how local businesses support us every day.
A massive THANK YOU to our wonderful parent helpers for keeping us safe and organised. We couldn't do it without you!

WALKING CLUB IS IN ITS 9th YEAR AT ST LUKE’S!
For nine years, Mrs Plimmer has been meeting our early bird students on Wednesday mornings for a 500-metre safe walk to school. It’s the perfect way to chat with friends, get those legs moving, and learn about road safety at the same time.
We have a great bunch of parents who love to come along as well! Part of the fun is opening up the chicken coop afterward to let our “girls” out into the schoolyard, and hopefully getting to pat Ellie the school rabbit. 🐔🐰
🌟 GO, MRS PLIMMER, GO! 🌟
This Friday, Mrs Plimmer is taking "Walking Club" to a whole new level! She’s trekking a massive 30km in the Coastrek to raise funds for Beyond Blue—such an incredible cause for mental health and wellbeing.
Let’s get behind her as she hits the pavement! If you’d like to cheer on Monique and help her reach her fundraising goal, please donate via the link below:

The transition to secondary school is a big leap, and over the last two weeks, our Year 4s got their first look at the road ahead.
Groups visited Avila College, St Joseph's College, and Mater Christi College to take part in immersive "Taster Days." These days aren't just about the science experiments (though the rockets, slime and chromatography were highlights!), they’re about helping every student feel excited and prepared for the next chapter of their education.
A big thank you to the local schools for hosting us and giving our students a glimpse into the many paths they can take!
