Happy Learning Assistant Appreciation Week!

This week, we celebrated our wonderful Learning Assistants and the invaluable role they play in supporting and encouraging our students each day.

We enjoyed a special morning tea where staff shared notes of appreciation and thanks, and each Learning Assistant received a small gift as a token of our gratitude.

We are fortunate to have 18 dedicated Learning Assistants serving across our school. Their encouragement, flexibility and support help our students thrive while enabling teachers to meet the diverse needs of our learners.

We are deeply thankful for the care, dedication and difference our Learning Assistants make in our College community!

Culture Day at St Andrews!

Last week, our College community came together to celebrate the many cultures, traditions and backgrounds that make our school so special.

Students enjoyed a range of activities and games organised by our student leadership captains and volunteers during lunchtime, creating opportunities to connect, have fun and learn from one another.

We were proud to host our own VEX Robotics regional event last Thursday on 27 August, bringing teams together for a day of competition, collaboration and fun!

Our 10 teams have had an incredible season, showcasing resilience, teamwork, intelligence and a drive to excel, while taking home multiple Skills Champion and Tournament Victory awards.

Congratulations to all our students, and a special well done to Team 3477C for being crowned Tournament Champions!

Next stop: the State Championships next term, followed by the National Championships in Adelaide this December!

What a day at our Secondary Athletics Carnival!

Last Tuesday, 25 August, our Secondary students came together for a fantastic day of House spirit, competition and excitement! We thank God for holding off the rain for most of the day and allowing the carnival to go ahead.

From the track and field events to the crowd-favourite Teacher vs Student Tug of War and Relay, there were plenty of big cheers and friendly rivalry!

Congratulations to Deakin House on taking out the overall win! And well done to all our students for getting involved and making it such a memorable day!

Book Week 2026: A Symphony of Stories!

We had a wonderful week celebrating the joy and magic of reading at St Andrews! Our Primary students brought their favourite book characters to life for our Book Week Parade last Friday, enjoyed relaxing Reading Picnics, and were inspired by author Carol Vass, who shared her journey and passion for storytelling.

Thank you to our staff and teachers for sharing their favourite stories, and congratulations to Amy and Jasper for winning Best Costume, as well as to our colouring competition winners!

Last Thursday morning, we hosted our third Wellbeing Parent Information Session, focusing on Building Healthy Friendships.

Parents explored practical strategies to help their children navigate friendship challenges, build empathy, communicate confidently, set healthy boundaries and know when to step in.

What a day!

Our Year 3–6 students brought incredible energy, enthusiasm and sportsmanship to last Tuesday’s Primary Athletics Carnival! From sprints and jumps to the inaugural class vs class Tug of War and exciting circular relays, it was a fantastic day of competition, encouragement and fun.

A huge congratulations to Barton House, who stormed to victory by 80 points!

Well done to all our students and staff for a memorable day in the sunshine, celebrating and using the talents and gifts God has given us.

What a wonderful end to a fantastic season of theatre!

Congratulations to the cast and crew of Midnight: The Cinderella Musical. We’re so proud of the dedication they have demonstrated in bringing this story to life, and glorifying God through the Performing Arts.

Thank you to all of the staff, volunteers and families involved for their support of the show, and to all those who attended.

Midnight: The Cinderella Musical was performed at Burrinja Cultural Centre from August 13th to 15th, 2026.

What a fantastic three days at our Scholastic Book Fair!

Our Primary students loved their special “bookstore visit” experience, and we’re thrilled to have raised over $4,000! This wonderful result is a great reflection of our students’ love of reading.

Even more exciting, our fundraising has enabled us to purchase 50 brand-new books for our library! These new additions will help our students discover even more wonderful stories and grow their love of reading.

And we can’t wait for our Book Week Parade tomorrow! We’re looking forward to seeing all the creative costumes as our students bring their favourite book characters to life!
