🥁🎹🎷 “Give it up, for our AMAZING LIVE BAND!…” 🎶👑
One of the most iconic moments in Six: Teen Edition is the introduction of the live band — and from the very first note of the show, our student musicians absolutely delivered ❤️
A recent review by Pit Reviews Perth described the student band as having tackled the “professional level score adeptly” — and we honestly could not be prouder. (Ben Clapton)
Under the leadership of our incredible Musical Director and Keys 1 player, Miss Maddison Moulin, this phenomenal group of young musicians brought the entire show to life night after night 🎹✨
🎶 Kate Wolsoncroft — Flute (Year 12)
🎶 Athie McNichol — Alto Sax / Flute (Year 12)
🎶 Emmanuelle Webber — Trumpet (Year 10)
🎶 Josiah Lupton — Euphonium (Year 12)
🎸 Hamish Hulston — Electric Guitar (Year 12)
🎸 Sourish Mondal — Bass Guitar (Year 12)
🎹 Avalon Armstrong — Keys 2 (Year 12)
🥁 Charlie Copeland — Drums (Year 12)
The review specifically praised the “beautiful, blended tone” of the wind section, the way the band kept “the power of the songs going,” and highlighted Charlie Copeland’s drumming as an “absolute standout” that stayed strong and steady through the huge audience energy every night. (Ben Clapton)
And truly — this show would not have been what it was without them.
Six: Teen Edition relies entirely on the band. Not just playing the score, but driving the concert atmosphere, supporting the queens, responding to the action on stage and creating the energy that powers every single moment of the show. To perform this kind of expanded Broadway/West End orchestration at such a high level is an enormous achievement for any musician… but to do it as high school students? Absolutely extraordinary.
We are endlessly proud of these students and so grateful for the countless rehearsals, focus, professionalism and heart they poured into this production ❤️
