🥋Ikigai Martial Arts Academy is coming to Geekcon!🥋

We are excited to announce that Ikigai Martial Arts Academy will be hosting a stand at this years Geekcon, on the 19th of September in the Wangaratta library from 2pm - 5:30pm!

At first, a martial arts academy at a pop culture convention might seem like an unusual combination, however martial arts has been deeply rooted in pop culture for decades. From real-life martial arts legends like Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris to fictional characters and franchises like The Karate Kid, Kung Fu Panda and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, martial arts has played a massive role in inspiring and shaping pop culture.

We are excited to bring a little bit of the martial arts world to Geekcon and demonstrate how the skills, traditions and philosophies of martial arts can benefit anyone. Whether you are a life-long martial arts fan, a pop culture enthusiasts or just curious about who we are and what we do, we would love for you to stop by and come say hello.

🥇A clean sweep for Ikigai Martial Arts Academy in traditional weapons during last Sunday's NEMAC Albury Wodonga event!🥇

Last Sunday Ikigai Martial Arts Academy attended the NEMAC 2026 Albury Wodonga championships, and won the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in traditional weapons!🥇🥈🥉

A Massive congratulations to both Yohann who placed 1st, and Sempai Megan who placed 2nd. These two absolutely incredible martial artists, not only learnt the Kata they performed in less than 2 months, but also outperformed Sensei Xavier (3rd place) who was the one to teach them these Kata!

Sensei Xavier - "As a proud Sensei I couldn't be more happy that these two not only won medals, but also outdid me in the event, I don't have the words to convey just how proud I am!.. That being said, I'm also very competitive. You two have set the bar, I'll see you at the next comp 😉".
