Our Prep students had the pleasure of welcoming the wonderful team from the Wangaratta Fire Department to our school for a couple of fun and educational visits over the past 2 weeks 🚒🔥

Our students learned all about the important role firefighters play in keeping our community safe. They enjoyed answering questions, creating their own family fire escape "safe meeting places", discovering the equipment carried on a fire truck, and, of course, the highlight - having a turn spraying water from the fire hose! 💦

A huge thank you to the firefighters for taking the time to visit our school and for delivering such engaging and informative sessions. We are so grateful for all that you do for our community! ❤️👨‍🚒

THESE YEAR 2 ‘Story Journeys’ inspired by Maree Clark’s Possum skin cloak at NGV. As part of our NAIDOC week celebrations, we watched a documentary on indigenous artist, Maree Clark and her connection to country, shown on her possum skin cloak. We took inspiration from her work and have made our own ‘story journey’ showing places or trips important to us.

LAST NIGHT, two of our students, Patrick Hogan and Amarlie Kane, represented Wang West in the Lions Club Public Speaking Contest!

Patrick and Amarlie represented our school with pride, confidence, and poise beyond their years. Patrick's outstanding speech and confident delivery saw him crowned the Grade 3/4 Champion, while Amarlie's mature, heartfelt speech and exceptional articulation earned her Runner-Up in the Grade 5/6 competition.

Both students were amazing and their awards were so well deserved - especially given the incredibly strong competition they faced.

Congratulations - we are so proud of you 💙

Our lunchtime clubs are such a wonderful addition to break time for kids of all ages. We are looking for donations of any old Hot Wheels cars and tracks that might be cluttering your house. We would love to take them off your hands!

We are also seeking board games, lego, building blocks and other games and toys you may not have any use for anymore!
