🤖 ROBOTICS IS ON A ROLL! 🤖

What a way to kick off the VEX season! Our teams battled it out against 13 teams from across the region at the season opener in Thurgoona this week. 🔥

A huge congratulations to Declan and Will, who took out Junior Teamwork Champions and an incredible 80-point Robot Skills score, ranking 9th in Australia and 70th in the world!

Spencer, Isaac and Marshall also picked up the Design Award, while our senior team of Ryan, Charles and Max made it to the Grand Final after winning six of their eight matches.

Yesterday our Year 7 and 8 Student Captains travelled to Bendigo to join students, staff and community from across the Sandhurst Diocese for the Season of Creation Mass – Living Water.

The celebration invited us to reflect on the gift of water, our shared responsibility to care for creation, and the ways we can each contribute to protecting our common home. 🙏🌿

🗳️ ASKING QUESTIONS, MAKING CONNECTIONS! 🗳️

Our Year 8 students had the opportunity to meet with Independent Federal Member for Indi, Helen Haines MP , to learn more about politics, government and how she represents our local community. Rather than listening to a prepared speech, students led the conversation with questions of their own, making connections between their Humanities learning and the real world.

We’re incredibly grateful to Helen for taking the time to answer our students’ questions and share her experiences. It was a wonderful opportunity to bring learning to life and help our students better understand how our community is represented in Federal Parliament.

🏑 ONE STICK SHORT OF GOLD! 🏑

Our Senior Mixed Hockey team went undefeated before battling it out in a thrilling 2–2 State Final against Brunswick Secondary College, eventually finishing 2nd in the State after a shootout.

From Year 8 to Year 12, our students represented Galen with skill, determination and plenty of team spirit. What an achievement! 👏🏑
