Our Grade 1/2 students had a fantastic time exploring the Science concept of push and pull through a fun and hands-on kite incursion!

Students enjoyed decorating, constructing and flying their very own kites, while learning how forces can make objects move. It was wonderful to see their excitement, creativity and curiosity as they put their learning into action!

What a wonderful day of imagination, creativity and a little bit of bookish magic! Our students loved dressing up as their favourite book characters and bringing their stories to life. From beloved classics to modern favourites, we saw some fantastic costumes and plenty of smiles!

A huge thank you to our wonderful families who were present for our parade this morning and for helping make Book Week so special.

Happy 81st Indonesian Independence Day! Held on August 17th, the day is celebrated like a huge party.

This week in their Indonesian lessons, our very excited and eager students participated in special games such as ‘lomba makan kerupuk’ (rice cake eating contest), ‘pena di dalam botol’ (pen in a bottle), and ‘lomba estafet’ (pass the plate). Students had lots of fun, shared many laughs, and learnt more about traditional Indonesian culture.

⚡️⚡️National Science Week ⚡️⚡️

We have celebrated National Science Week in our HEROES classes this week by experimenting with energy sticks to learn about electrical conductivity! We have had a ball testing and comparing all sorts of materials. Some of the items that conducted electricity were mind blowing for our students.

It was so special to have our families join us and see the fantastic writing our children have created. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them and all the effort, creativity and progress they have shown.

Our Grade 1/2 students worked collaboratively to write procedural texts, using strong verbs and adverbs to create clear, precise instructions. They then presented their procedures to the class, with everyone following the steps to complete each activity. It was a fantastic learning experience and lots of fun!

Last week, our Grade 1/2 students explored forces by designing and testing paper helicopters. 🚁 Students made predictions, changed one variable at a time, and observed how their changes affected the way the helicopters fell. It was a fun, hands-on investigation that developed their understanding of fair testing and scientific inquiry.
