Karate Western Australia is excited to launch a Statewide Come & Try Karate Day on Saturday, 22 August 2026.

The aim of the program is to introduce children to karate in a fun, safe and welcoming environment while encouraging them to become more active, build confidence, develop resilience and experience the many physical and mental benefits that karate provides.

Participating karate clubs across Western Australia will be opening their doors to offer FREE introductory karate sessions for children who have never tried karate before. Families simply register online and will be matched with their nearest participating dojo.

For your child to join these free karate sessions please scan the QR Code on this photo, with your phone and register.

Regular karate lessons are held in Walpole at the Rec Centre on Thursdays straight after school. 🥷

Walpole Primary School is currently advertising for an Education Assistant working with Special Needs children within our supportive and inclusive school environment.

This is a permanent 4 day a week (part-time) position. You will be required to provide a Working with Children Check and a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.

📚✨ Recently at Walpole Primary School, Years 1, 2 and 4 enjoyed an engaging visit from Australian children’s author Steve Heron.

Steve shared his love of writing and gave students an insight into how books are created. The students were also introduced to some of his wonderful books, including The Ging and Skimming Stones.

There were plenty of questions, lots of listening and hopefully a few budding authors inspired to put pen to paper! ✍️📖

We celebrated 100 Days of School at Walpole Primary in true Walpole style! 💯

Our students and staff got wonderfully creative, with some very convincing 100-year-olds, a few mysterious characters, 100 dogs 🐶 and even a certain legendary wildlife presenter getting ready for his next expedition! 🔎🌿

There were walking sticks, curlers, glasses, tweed caps, curious creatures and plenty of laughs along the way.

What a fantastic way to celebrate 100 days of learning, growing and having fun together! ❤️💯

🎉 Next Thursday is a special day—we're celebrating 100 days of school! 🎊 We'd love for you to join in the fun by dressing up with a "100" theme. Get creative! 🌟 You could dress as a wise old person, rock the jersey of your favourite footy player who's hit 100 games, bedazzle yourself with 100 shimmering stars, or clip 100 colourful hair accessories into your hair. The possibilities are endless, and we can't wait to see all the amazing 100 dress-ups walking through our classroom door! 👀✨
