Today, LEAD Childcare Walloon wore our best denim items in acknowledgement of Jeans for Genes Day.

1 in 20 children face a birth defect or genetic disease, like cancer, cystic fibrosis, and other life-threatening conditions. This event allows us to spread awareness and gain support for the Children’s Medical Research Institute - helping kids get back to being kids!

Keely’s dedication to children, families and our LEAD family has made a lasting impact, and we are deeply grateful for everything she brings to our team.

Keely’s contributions have played an important role in shaping a positive, inclusive and responsive environment for families. Her dedication reflects the values of LEAD Childcare and continues to enhance the culture and practice within our organisation.

Last week we celebrated NAIDOC Week and learnt about the world's oldest living cultures!

NAIDOC Week provides an opportunity to teach respect, understanding, and pride as we celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Throughout the week, we:
⭐️ Built recognition and appreciation of different languages through exploring Indigenous symbols and experimenting with colour
⭐️ Developed a sense of community through engaging in collaborative art pieces
⭐️ Explored different values and beliefs through storytelling
⭐️ Explored our environment and worked with natural materials
⭐️ Celebrated our similarities and differences with Indigenous music

We'd like to give a big thank you to the Ipswich Show Society for giving our LEAD Childcare Walloon children a space to shine! ⭐️

Our children have been excited to talk about their display all week after seeing it showcased for at the 2026 Rosewood Show last weekend.

Having their work displayed at a community event teaches the children that their voices and creativity matter, developing positive self esteem, feelings of belonging and a strong sense of connection. This is what play-based learning looks like! Every brushstroke is problem-solving, creativity, and confidence building. 🖌🎨
