What an amazing day it was yesterday, the children have been so interested in animals, especially zoo animals. Acting out the different sounds and movements. So yesterday we decided it was time to visit the Melbourne Zoo! The children had so much fun watching the different animals in their habitats, listening to all the sounds they make and also seeing the baby giraffe 🦒

At Rose's Family Daycare, children are encouraged to be who they want to be, their imagination is so strong and amazing!

I also just wanted to take the time to explain to families about my last post. Children do not sleep outside everyday, they normally sleep inside on the sleep room but on 1 particular day they slept outside. The children were originally pretending to go camping, they used their imagination to come up with the game, pretended to look for some fire wood and set up their tents. When it was time for the children to have a rest that day, instead of going inside, I extended on their learning and asked if they would like to sleep outside today. The children were so excited.
My area outside is fully enclosed with not 1 but 2 big heaters, this area sits at around 20 degrees all day, obviously if weather conditions were worst (heavy rain, freezing cold temperatures, lightning, thunder, extreme winds) then no, children would not have slept outside.

I keep an eye on the temperature throughout the day and do regular 10 minute sleep checks when children are sleeping, whether inside or outside.
