As we wrap up Catholic Schools Open Week, we're grateful for the opportunity to share what makes St Monica's such a special community, where every child is known, valued and encouraged to shine!

✨ My Story, Your Story, Our Story ✨

What a wonderful afternoon celebrating our 2026 SALA Exhibition as part of Catholic Schools Open Week.
The exhibition celebrated the creativity, perspectives and voices of our students while recognising 100 years of community on our St Monica's site. Through their artwork, students explored their own stories, reflected on the stories of others and expressed what belonging means to them.

It was wonderful to welcome families, parishioners, former staff, old scholars, and community representatives to share in this special occasion. Visitors enjoyed inspiring artwork, beautiful performances from our Performance Choir and instrumental music students, and the opportunity to view our stunning community mural created by parent artist Catherine Nguyen-Hoang, depicting all elements that make our community so special!

Thank you to Mrs Tamblyn for her vision and organisation, our staff, students and families for helping make the exhibition such a memorable celebration of learning, belonging and connection.

As part of Catholic Schools Open Week, we are excited to invite our community to our SALA 2026 Exhibition, "My Story, Your Story, Our Story".

Be inspired by our students' amazing artwork, with a special performance from our Performance Choir and live music from our Instrumental Students throughout the afternoon.

Reception Jolly students continue to be very busy learners!

The children have been exploring collage in Art, developing their understanding of shape, colour, and texture while creating beautiful artwork.

In literacy, our budding authors have been working hard on constructing super sentences, improving their writing skills and confidence every day!

As a Josephite school, the Feast Day of Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop holds special significance for our community.
To celebrate her Feast Day, Year 5/6 MR created portraits of Australia’s first saint, thoughtfully incorporating images, quotes and symbols that reflect her life, mission and legacy.
We are so proud of the creativity and depth of understanding shown in these meaningful artworks.💙
