School Bus Update ( Narrabri trip ) 🚌

The school bus is running behind schedule. All students are expected to be dropped off at approximately 5–5:30pm . Please be assured that all students will be dropped home safely .

Just a heads up to all students going to the Narrabri Fish Farm excursion tomorrow. Please be at the school by 8 am. The excursion will be returning by 4 pm. Make sure your permission notes are returned or bought with you in the morning.

Celebrating 2026 Education Week at Walgett Community College High School!

What a fantastic week of learning, celebration and community connection at WCCHS!

We kicked off the week with our Education Week Assembly, where we proudly recognised students for their commitment to school through our Attendance Awards and Living in the Green Awards. Congratulations to all of our award recipients for demonstrating our school values of Courage and Excellence.

On Tuesday, we celebrated National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day with a fun lunchtime treasure hunt. Students worked together to solve Walgett and Aboriginal-inspired clues, testing their local knowledge while enjoying plenty of prizes along the way.

Wednesday saw our successful Education Week Expo, where exciting learning took place across our school. Students and guests rotated through four engaging learning areas:
STEAM – hands-on science investigations and experiments.
Humanities – mapping skills and area references with a local focus.
PDHPE – showcasing our tennis court and promoting active lifestyles.
Hospitality – preparing delicious French toast and demonstrating practical cooking skills.

On Thursday, a group of our students proudly represented WCCHS at the Goodooga Games. It was a fantastic day and everyone had a great time.

We wrapped up Education Week on Friday by treating our students to pizza for lunch, celebrating a wonderful week of learning, participation and achievement together.

Goodooga Games 2026

What a fantastic day at the 2026 Goodooga Games! It was a very early and chilly start, but that certainly didn't dampen our spirits. Our students represented Walgett Community College High School with pride, demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship, teamwork and determination throughout the day.

A special congratulations to Nakaylah, who was selected as the Most Consistent Player for Pool A, a fantastic achievement and well-deserved recognition of her effort and commitment throughout the competition.

A big thank you to Goodooga Central School for their outstanding organisation and hospitality in hosting such a well-run and enjoyable event.
