💙 From the gym floor to changing lives in community services
Darryl’s journey hasn’t followed a traditional path, and that’s what makes it so powerful. 👏🏽 💪🏽
Starting out as a concreter, then a personal trainer and boxing coach, Darryl built his career on connecting with people and supporting their wellbeing. This lead him into community work and, ultimately, the classroom.
Today, Darryl is a Community Services teacher at TAFE NSW. His work goes beyond one campus, teaching students virtually across multiple locations in Western NSW, including TAFE NSW - Walgett, helping expand access to education and support. ✨
Alongside teaching, he continues his work as a mental health, drug and alcohol clinician, bringing real-world experience into every lesson.
“Qualifications can create real opportunities. Not just for employment, but to genuinely support people and strengthen communities.”
Through initiatives like the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program*, eligible students can access free training and gain the skills to support others in their own communities. 🌏
