The Gumnut Room is a soft, nurturing and relationship-based environment where our youngest children are supported to feel safe, secure and deeply known. Our philosophy is grounded in attachment-focused practice, responsive caregiving and unhurried routines, recognising that babies and toddlers learn through trust, connection and repetition.

🌿 Introducing The Kookaburra Room 🌿

Our Kookaburra Room offers a calm, nurturing and unhurried learning environment where children are supported to grow in confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing. Our school readiness program is play-based and naturally embedded into each day — focusing on the skills that truly matter, such as self-regulation, communication, resilience, problem-solving and independence.

With our long day care hours, children are never rushed through routines or learning. They are given time to finish their play, revisit ideas, build relationships and explore their interests at their own pace. This slower rhythm supports deeper learning and emotional security.

Learning in the Kookaburra Room is child-led, relationship-based and responsive, with a strong connection to nature and outdoor environments. We believe when children feel safe, calm and trusted, they are best prepared for school and life 💛

🌟 We’re Hiring – On-Site Cook! 🌟

Our wonderful current cook has been working extremely hard behind the scenes to complete her studies to become an Early Childhood Educator 👩‍🏫💛. While we are so proud of her journey, this means we are now looking for a new, passionate on-site cook to join our Little Kindy family!

About the Role:
As our cook, you will play a vital role in nourishing our children each day with healthy, delicious meals and snacks. You’ll be an important part of our team, supporting children’s wellbeing and contributing to our warm, home-away-from-home environment.

What You’ll Need:
- Food Safety Supervisor qualification (or willingness to obtain)
- Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Experience cooking large portions for groups
- Knowledge of food allergies, intolerances, and safe food handling practices
- Ability to organise and prepare weekly menus that are healthy, balanced, and child-friendly
- Passion for creating meals that meet children’s needs and bring comfort to their day

Hours & Details:
- Monday to Friday
- Approx. 6 hours per day (8:30am – 2:30pm)
