𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, Lucy!

We are incredibly proud of Lucy, who has the privilege of representing 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵𝗮𝗺 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹, alongside student representatives from primary schools across the City of Rockingham.

In an exciting achievement, Lucy was voted by the council to take on the role of Deputy Mayor! 👏🏽🏛️

Lucy will work alongside the Junior Council to learn more about how local government works, develop her leadership skills and, most importantly, 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆.

What an incredible week of discovery, curiosity and exploration at Charthouse Primary School! 🌟

Our students stepped into the world of science through a range of exciting lunchtime activities throughout the week, exploring new ideas, experimenting, creating and discovering just how amazing science can be. 🧪🧬🌱🪐

The highlight of the week was our 𝗩𝗥 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟵 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁, where students had the opportunity to explore new realities and experience science and technology in an immersive and exciting way thanks to wonderful people of Mindflight7!🥽🚀

From molecules and DNA to planets, space, technology and the world around us, there was something to spark curiosity in every young scientist. 🌌🔭

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make Science Week 2026 such a fun and memorable experience for our students!

🔦𝗙𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝟭𝟯🔦

𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝟭𝟯 has had a fantastic and busy term, with plenty of opportunities to learn, create and work together.

𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 📖
In English, we have been learning how to write informative texts, with a focus on creating an information report about convict settlement in Australia. Students have researched important historical information and developed their skills in organising facts into clear paragraphs, using topic-specific vocabulary and writing in an informative style. We have also continued to strengthen our reading fluency, spelling and vocabulary through our daily literacy routines and Word Origins program.

𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 ➗
In Mathematics, we have been developing our understanding of fractions, including adding and subtracting fractions with related denominators. We have been using a range of strategies and visual representations to help us understand fractions and explain our mathematical thinking. These activities have helped us become more confident and flexible when solving fraction problems.

𝗛𝗔𝗦𝗦 🌀🌡️
In HASS, we have been investigating natural disasters that occur across Australia, including droughts, floods, cyclones and bushfires. Students explored the causes and impacts of these natural disasters and investigated ways communities can prepare for, respond to and manage them. To demonstrate their learning, students created interactive flap books containing definitions, diagrams, impacts and management strategies for each natural disaster.

𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 🥗
In Health, we have been learning about healthy eating and the importance of making nutritious choices. We have explored the five food groups, the benefits of eating a variety of foods and how healthy choices provide our bodies with the energy and nutrients needed to grow, learn and stay active. Students have also been developing their understanding of how everyday choices can contribute to their overall health and wellbeing.

𝗔𝗿𝘁 👨‍🎨👩‍🎨
In Art, we have been exploring how artists use colour, line, shape, pattern and texture to communicate ideas and stories. Students have been developing artwork for our Book Week display, using their creativity and imagination to respond to literature. They have enjoyed experimenting with different artistic techniques and working carefully to create pieces that celebrate their favourite books and characters.

It has been another wonderful term in Room 13. I am incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, creativity and resilience the students have shown throughout the term. They have embraced new learning opportunities, supported one another and continued to grow as learners. We are excited for our upcoming Learning Journey, where we look forward to sharing our learning with our families and celebrating all that we have achieved together.
