To celebrate Harmony Week, we encourage all our students to wear orange or cultural dress next Thursday the 19th. Our classes will be involved in activities over the week, that promote inclusivity and belonging at Waikerie Primary School. Some of our artwork and activities will be on display out on the basketball area on Thursday and Friday next week, and we encourage you to drop by and check these out.

What's that old saying....red goes faster?🚩
Well it did today. Congratulations to our 🟥Flinders House Team🟥 who took out the coveted shield at our Primary Splash Carnival.

Second was 🟦 Sturt
Third place 🟨Eyre
And in fourth 🟩 Barker

What an absolutely fabulous day, with lots of fun had by everyone.

We had excellent attendance from our students and keen participation in all events. You could definitely see how much our students had benefitted from their swimming lessons. A huge thank you goes out to our instructors.

Well done to our House Leaders today who were keen to help out where possible and kept their teams organised.

Thank you to all of our parents and caregivers who came along to support the students and their teams, not to mention jumping in and helping out with tasks when asked. We truly appreciate your help!

Thanks to The Waikerie Swimming Pool for their life guards, the wonderful pool and surrounding area and running the canteen for us.

SAPSASA Swimming 2026 🏊‍♀️

What an awesome day at the SAPSASA Swimming Carnival in Renmark on Tuesday! Sixteen Waikerie Primary School athletes gave it their all, competing in great spirit and pushing for personal bests. We saw some fantastic placings, but the real highlight was watching our students cheer each other on and show true teamwork throughout the day.
Several races were of an exceptionally high quality, making the achievements of our Waikerie athletes even more impressive. Considering our town doesn’t have a swim club, it’s a real credit to our students to see them perform so confidently against tough competition.
We’re also thrilled to congratulate Chloe, Sid, Zac and Hunter on their selection in the Riverland SAPSASA team. These four WPS athletes will go on to compete later this term at the Adelaide Aquatic Centre, and we wish them all the best as they represent our school and the Riverland with pride.
A huge thank you to all the parents for your support, and to Mrs Winter, Mrs Frost and Rachel Kratopoulos for scoring all day. It was a day to be proud of for our whole school community!

Introducing our 2026 School Leaders, Hunter and Chloe.

Hunter and Chloe were introduced and presented with their certificates by Mrs Higgins at last week's assembly. Hosting the rest of the assembly they displayed excellent confidence and organisational skills.

We wish them all the best in their new roles and look forward to seeing their leadership skills develop.
