Old Girls showed their support for our school community and added some sparkle at the Abbotsleigh Foundation’s The Joy of Giving Gala Dinner to raise funds for means-tested scholarships - such as the AOGU’s Kath McCredie Scholarship – a worthwhile cause close to all our hearts. In an unforgettable evening led by amazing MCs Laura Tunstall (2001) and Stephanie Borys (2006), and with poignant speeches from previous Indigenous Scholar Myffanwy Wilson (2025), and Abbotsleigh Foundation Chair Linda Ellis (1990), all gathered there felt the lasting impact of supporting the educational journeys for our next generation.

At today’s WILA x Careers breakfast, Abbotsleigh Old Girl Lauren Henderson (2018) spoke to eager current girls on her professional journey in HR advisory. Working across powerhouse hospitality groups and in the epicurean cuisine sector, Lauren shared the valuable insight that career pathways can evolve organically if you trust your natural talents and open yourself to unknown opportunities. In her time, she has seen bartenders become hospitality leaders and businesses founded on innovative ideas. After studying Law initially, Lauren is now Human Resources Business Partner at Hunter Street Hospitality, where she supports over 40 venues to deliver people-focused culture.

The Abbotsleigh Snow Sports team was very lucky to have Olympian Rosie Fordham (2020) provide a special Cross Country training session this weekend at Perisher Valley.

The girls were extremely grateful for her energy and experience in preparing them for the upcoming State Championships to be held at Perisher Next week.

Making a much-anticipated return, Old Girl Laura Tunstall will be our fabulous MC. Joining Laura on stage will be fellow Old Girl Stephanie Borys from ABC, Canberra. With their wit and energy, Laura and Stephanie will be sure to keep us entertained and inspired throughout the evening.

The AOGU was again lucky enough to have Annabel Baxter (Marr, 1965) lead two private tours at this year's Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes exhibition.
Annabel delivered the stories of the artists and their subjects with great energy, enthusiam and knowledge. Her entertaining insights brought the exhibition to life and created a memorable day for all the Old Girls who attended.
