A massive congratulations to Andre Labara on his efforts at the Junior Pan Pacific Games in Canada this week.
Teachers and classmates gathered to watch Andre compete in both the 400 IM and the 4 x 200M Freestyle yesterday.
Andre was phenomenal and broke the Australian Record in the 15 Year-old boys 400m Individual Medley, twice in one day.
Andre swam a 4:20:20 in the heats and then smashed this record again with a 4:16:88 in the Final.
This swim puts Andre amongst the fastest 15-year-old 400M IM swimmers of all time, just 1.68 seconds off the time Michael Phelps swam at the same age.
A huge congratulations, Andre, from everyone back at Kildare Catholic College!
We can't wait to hear all about your experiences in Canada!

Congratulations to our Shipard Shield and Creed Cup soccer teams on their efforts in their Grand Finals last night.
The Shipard Shield Girls playing phenomenally and winning 3-0 over TRAC. Special mention to Andi (Yr 9) for winning the Tiffany Selby Medal for being judged Best on Ground in the Grand Final. This is the girls third year in a row, winning the Shipard Shield.
The Creed Cup boys scored right before full time to take their game to extra time. Unfortunately we conceded a goal in extra time to go down 2-1. A fantastic team effort from the boys, coming all the way from Pool B to go within an inch of winning.
Well done to both teams!

Our Year 11 and 12 students recently had the incredible opportunity to attend the Launchpad 2 Law presentation, exploring where a career in the Australian legal system can take them.
We were thrilled to welcome guest speakers Tony Damian, Partner, and ex Wagga student, India Becroft, Lawyer, from Sydney law firm Ashurst Perkins Coie, who shared their inspiring personal journeys transitioning from rural backgrounds into successful careers in corporate law.
They proved that no matter where you start, high-level pathways in law are well within reach.
Key takeaways for our senior students included:
🔹 Exploring Practice Areas: From corporate and family law to human rights and government roles.
🔹 Career Progression: What the journey actually looks like from law student all the way to law firm partner.
🔹 Regional Support: Access to regional & rural university entry programs designed to help students succeed.
🔹 Scholarships & Mentorship: Financial aid opportunities and direct pairing with industry mentors to guide students through tertiary study and beyond.
A huge thank you to Tony, India, and the Launchpad 2 Law firms for giving our senior students a practical roadmap for their future studies and careers.

A few weeks ago we celebrated our Year 12 HSC Art Students by holding an opening of their exhibition at Gallery 43 on Wagga Wagga's TAFE Campus.
The night was a great success with families and friends of the students attending, as well as art lovers from the general public.
We thank Juanita McLauchlan from TAFE NSW for all her guidance and support during the curation process... As well as a big thanks to all our art teachers - especially Mr Kennedy - who have walked alongside each student as they created their individual masterpieces.

As part of the weekend some of our students were lucky enough to run the flags out before the Brisbane Broncos and Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs game.
It was an amazing experience for the girls - Madison, Ana, Abby, Charlie, Aleeya (not pictured) and Jakeil (not pictured) - and a great weekend for Women's Rugby League in Wagga Wagga!!
