Learn to operate a skid steer loader safely and efficiently on civil construction sites. This unit covers planning the work, pre-start and shut-down checks, operating the loader to specification, and completing site clean-up and reporting.

⏱ Duration: Blended delivery – online learning to be completed before the course, followed by 1 day face-to-face (theory and practical)

💲 Fee: $750 per person (including GST)

What you'll learn:
• Plan and prepare for skid steer loader operations
• Conduct pre-operational checks and identify hazards
• Operate the loader to carry out civil construction tasks
• Select, remove and fit attachments
• Relocate the machine safely on site
• Carry out shut-down, securing and operator maintenance

Entry requirements:
• Sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills to complete the online learning and written assessment tasks
• Access to a computer or device with internet to complete the online learning
• Steel-capped boots, hi-vis and long sleeves/pants required for the practical component

Outcome:
Successful participants receive a Statement of Attainment for RIIMPO318F. Assessment includes practical operation of a skid steer loader under supervision. This unit does not on its own constitute a licence or guarantee of employment; employers may set additional requirements.
