β½π SHIPARD SHIELD SUCCESS! πβ½
Over the past month, our KHS Opens Girls Soccer team has battled it out in the Shipard Shield competition, finishing with an incredible 3rd place!
Last week, the girls faced Mater Dei in the 3rd vs 4th playoff. Trailing 2β0 with just six minutes remaining, our girls showed incredible fight to level the match in the final seconds, with goals from Perle Grintell and Issy Schofield! π
After extra time couldn't separate the teams, the match headed to penalties. Goalkeeper Millie Russell produced a huge save on Mater Dei's fourth penalty, while our girls calmly converted all five of their penalties to secure the win! π§€π₯
Even more exciting, after several years competing in Pool B, KHS is now back in Pool A! πͺ
Congratulations to the entire team on an outstanding competition, with special recognition to Miki Blake, Lexi Ayton, Arnica Ayton and Issy Schofield, who were outstanding throughout the tournament.
What a way to finish! πβ½π

π¬ Science Week at KHS! π±
Last week was Science Week at KHS! π¬πΏ
Over several days, we welcomed students from our Partner Primary Schools for a range of fun, hands-on science activities.
This yearβs theme, "Seeds of Science: Nurturing knowledge for all" , saw us head up to the KHS Farm, where students got to:
πΏ Plant native species
𫧠Create massive bubbles
π Launch bottle rockets
π£ Observe the life cycle of farm animals
π¬ Explore a range of other hands-on science activities
The best part? All activities were led and supported by our Kooringal High School Year 10 Science students, giving our Primary School visitors the chance to learn from our very own young scientists! π©βπ¬π¨βπ¬
A fantastic few days of curiosity, discovery and plenty of science! π±π¬

πΎ Year 11 Agriculture | Farm Case Study
Our Year 11 Agriculture students recently visited βAvondaleβ near Sandigo as part of their farm case study unit of work.
It was an excellent day of hands-on learning, with students exploring a wide range of agricultural enterprises and examining how competing priorities interact on a commercial farm.
A huge thank you to Mr Anderson for taking time out of his day to welcome our students and share his knowledge of his family farm. π¨βπΎπ±
